Associate Teacher: Chris Masse
I had the opportunity to teach in a fifth grade class. I taught language arts, math, physical
education, art, science, and health. I was expected to plan and implement units for all of
the aforementioned classes in addition to creating a wide variety of assessment. I
successfully promoted the growth and learning of students by asking appropriate
questions to create a higher-level of student thought. Throughout this placement I had to
be aware of the various needs within the classroom, which included a couple ESL
students. Throughout this placement I focused on differentiated assessment, feedback, and
student conferencing to ensure the success of all students.
Practicum Teaching: Coronation Public School Windsor, Ontario [February 2015]

Associate Teacher: Cathy Pupulin
I had the opportunity to teach a seventh grade class. I taught math, history and dance to
students. I was expected to plan and implement math lessons involving patterning and
algebra. This included using manipulatives to ensure student understanding. I was also
expected to plan an implement a history unit that focused on change in Canadian history,
with special attention to the War of 1812. I was required to design a unit on dance
following curriculum guidelines. Students were differentially assessed throughout the
entirety of this placement and had many opportunities to be successful. Throughout this
placement I was expected to show understanding towards specific socio-economic needs.

Practicum Teaching: A.V. Graham Elementary School Tecumseh, Ontario [December

2014] GECDSB
Associate Teacher: Heather Lokun
I had the opportunity to teach in a Special Education Resource Room (SERR). I taught
math and English to students in grades five and seven. I was expected to plan and
implement math lessons involving the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
of decimals. I was also expected to plan and implement a literacy unit involving nouns,
adjectives, verbs, and adverbs. It was also apart of my job to provide students with
multiple assessments, which ranged from exit cards to oral assessment. The purpose of the
SERR program is to modify or accommodate student learning and aid in brining students
to grade level.
Practicum Teaching: Jack Miner Public School Kingsville, Ontario [October 2015]
GECDSB
Associate Teacher: Michelle Fennell
I had the opportunity to teach grade eight language arts, math, and art. I was required to
plan, create and teach an entire art unit on one-point perspective. The one pointperspective unit included a progression, which began with pencil, moved to coloured
pencils, and finished with pastels. Students were able to freely create an image that had to
meet specific criteria. I was also responsible for seamlessly running literacy centers and
co-teaching a unit based on the novel The Maze Runner. I was also required to plan,
create, and teach a math unit on The Order of Operations. This unit was riddled with
various assessments and completed with a final unit test. I was also expected to adapt all
of my lessons and tests for students on Individual Education Plans in the class.
Tutoring [November 2009 Present]
I have the privilege of tutoring a young girl, now age 16. I first began to tutor this student
when she was in grade six. She is now in grade 11 and I continue to provide academic aid.
I tutor language arts/English, history, science/biology, and math. Tutoring her over a long
period of time has increased my understanding of skill sets and needs based on age and
grade. It is interesting to follow the progression of a student over the course of many
years.

further assist in their learning.
Job Experience
Tecumseh Home Hardware & Building Centre Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada [July 2013
Present]
Paint department duties include a leadership role as well as collaboration with fellow staff
to achieve and maintain a positive work environment. My responsibilities span from

customer relations to inventory. I am expected to complete tasks adequately and

efficiently. I must also deal promptly and appropriately to customer concerns. I am
adaptable to different roles within the store setting and willing to be flexible.
Tim Hortons Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada [September 2008 June 2013]
My main goal was to always make connections with customers in order to make their
experience personalized. As a store trainer, I was responsible to train new employees and
ensure they had the necessary tools to be successful. As a supervisor, I was responsible for
my staff as well as the store. Additionally, I was required to ensure that all customer needs
were met in a timely manner, cleaning tasks were completed to the satisfaction of Tim
Hortons standards, and that fast, friendly, and accurate service was given at all times. Tim
Hortons developed and honed my time management, team-collaboration, leadership, and
organizational skills.
Child Minding Windsor, Ontario, Canada [2005 - 2010]
I undertook the responsible care of the children in an active and responsive way. I took
care of meeting their needs as well as planning and executing various activities. I was also
responsible for meal preparation, home cleanliness, and the overall wellbeing and
entertainment of the children.
Volunteer Experience
St. Anne Parish Youth Group [2006 2010]
St. Annes Youth Group is a program that encourages students to get involved in their
religious life and acknowledge the importance of gathering as a community. I was
responsible for the execution of various activities, events, and outings. As a group, the
Youth Leaders were continually successful because we allowed students to feel apart of a
proactive community group focusing on team building, raising funds, and collecting
goods for the surrounding community. My responsibilities included: teamwork,
entertainment, ensuring the safety of children ages 10-14, and working collaboratively to
make sure everyone felt included.
