EXPERIENCE
Assisting in a low-income, urban Kindergarten class. Some students in this class have behavioral and
learning issues. I help administer assessments, attend to students who need extra support and observe
and help the teacher when needed.

Currently tutor a first grade student who is gifted in reading. I plan weekly lesson plans to challenge
and strengthen his reading ability as well as word study, vocabulary and writing.

Lead and managed a first grade class for the semester. Created and taught lessons based off the
standards, assisted the teacher, had classroom management experience and observed teacher and

Multiple responsibilities including overseeing 20 children in the nursery ages 0-8 yrs., engaging
children in play and communication; one-on-one aid for children with special needs, including ADHD
and autism; camp counselor for up to 30 children ages 5-11 yrs., leading them in games, crafts and
sports activities; swim coach for Park District Team ages 7-8 yrs.

GIVE Volunteers, Winter 2014

Volunteer: Chiang Mai, Thailand
Traveled to Northern Thailand for a two-week service trip. Taught English daily to local children of
tribes, ages ranging from 6-12 years. Helped with the construction of a fresh water sink for students to
use that live at the school. Gained knowledge about the local Thai language, culture and interacted with
locals on a daily basis.
GIVE Volunteers, Summer 2013

Volunteer: Tanzania, Africa
Traveled to Tanzania, Africa for two weeks. While there I taught English in a secondary school, created
lesson plans and activities to teach second and third grade students. I also assisted with school
construction in a local village as well as implementing a fresh water system.

Co-founder of the Miami University organization. Coming from a volunteer organization,
GIVE (Growth International Volunteer Excursions) based in Seattle, WA. We work to volunteer locally
and help our volunteers fundraise for trips abroad to Nicaragua, Africa and Northern Thailand.
