Accessible Media Assistant. I make media such as textbooks, PDF readings, and
PowerPoints accessible to students with disabilities. I use computer programs such as
Kurzweil, Abbyy FineReader, and Adobe Reader Pro to modify the formatting of PDFs
and Word documents, and to create audio files out of textbooks or other class readings.
JMU Catholic Campus Ministry Small Group Leader

I lead a Freshman Faith Community: a group of about 15 freshmen at JMUs Catholic
Campus Ministry. I worked with other small group leaders to plan and execute a
freshman retreat. With my co-leader, I plan and lead weekly small-group meetings and
activities, designed to help freshmen grow in their faith and become more comfortable
and adjusted at JMU.
Raising an Organization of Trained Educators
January 2015 December 2015
I attend weekly two-hour placements in Skyline MS in Harrisonburg, VA to observe
classrooms. I also assists teacher with grading and classroom organization; help
facilitate in-class activities; and work with students who need extra attention. In addition
to placements, I attend extra curricular school activities as a volunteer or chaperone,
and attend PTO and faculty meetings as an observer. Lastly, I attend a 1-credit class, in
addition to my regular course load, taught by the elementary school principle to discuss
special issues in education.
Child Care

I provide childcare for several families during the day, nights, and after school. I
supervise and help children with homework; cook children lunch or dinner; drive children
to camps, lessons, etc.; facilitate bedtime routines for young children and babies.
Tutoring

2008 Present

I assisted peers and younger students voluntarily in school and for pay outside of school
in Spanish, Math (Pre-algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry), Physics, English (essay
writing and editing). Math tutoring included summer sessions in preparation for the
upcoming school year.
