Special Cross-Cultural Considerations: Include here anything relevant to culture that you will either
incorporate as part of your lesson or that you need to be attuned to in terms of your students background
to ensure a lesson that is culturally responsive.

I chose the movie based on the popularity of the film in South Korea. The Frozen aspect will engage the
students in learning how to structure wh- questions correctly.

Materials: Include here all the materials that you need, including textbook titles and the page
numbers you will refer to.
Frozen wh- question word scramble worksheet (see attached), Frozen lyric scavenger hunt worksheet
(see attached), Frozen movie trailer, and For the Frist Time in Forever music video

Lesson Sequence: This may be adjusted as necessary to accommodate unique lesson plan features.
For each step, explain what the teacher will do, the expectation of what the students will do, and how
long the stage should take.
I.

MOTIVATION: Describe how you will build content background and introduce the specific language
functions/forms that you will target.
TIME: _____4 minutes_______

The teacher will(specifically what the teacher

does)
The teacher will gauge the students interest in
movies by facilitating questions about movies:
Do you like movies?
What are your favorite movies?
Has everyone seen that movie?
What genre is that movie?
Who are the main characters?
Where is the movie filmed?
The teacher will explain how todays lesson is
about a movie they all will like and how they are
going to practice their wh- questions.

The students will (specifically what the students

should do in response to what the teacher does)
The students will respond to the prompted questions
about movies to the entire class.

Formative Assessment (How will you gauge whether or not students are connecting to the background the teacher
is providing?):
The formative assessment will be completed by using verbal comprehension checks throughout the
facilitated discussion.
II. PRESENTATION: Describe the specific techniques you will use to make your presentation of new content and
linguistic material comprehensible to students, to provide opportunities for interaction through appropriate
questioning, to engage learner strategies, and to assess whether or not students are getting it.

TIME: ___8 minutes______

The teacher will(specifically what the teacher

does)
The teacher will ask if anyone knows what the
wh- question words are and what kind of
answers the questions are asking for.
The teacher will write the wh- question words

board.
Who- Is used for a person
What- Is used for a place
Where- Is used for a place
Why- Is used for a reason

to them:

The students will (specifically what the students

should do in response to what the teacher does)
The students will share their knowledge on what
the wh- words are and what kind of answers they
are asking for.
The students will respond to whether the question
is correct or not and what is wrong with the
question if they think it is incorrect.
The students will turn to their neighbor and
unscramble the question and then share with the
class.
The students will respond with what always goes
first in a wh- question (the wh- question word).
The students will explain what comes after the
wh- question word (verb).

scrambled and write scrambled on the board.
The teacher will explain that scrambled eggs
are eggs that are scrambled (make scrambling
motion).
The teacher will ask if the students can turn to
their neighbor and unscramble the question so
that it is in the correct order.
The students will then share with the class the
question in the correct order and the teacher
will write the question on the board.
The teacher will prompt the classroom to see
what always goes first in a wh- question.
The teacher will ask the students what comes
after the wh- question word.
The teacher will write the following questions on
the board and ask the students if they follow the
same pattern:
Which house is yours?
Which is your house?
Formative Assessment (How will you gauge whether or not students are comprehending/using the targeted
language forms as presented?): The formative assessment will be completed by using verbal
comprehension checks and listening to the students responses to the prompted questions.

language objectives for the lesson. Be specific in terms of not only what the students will do to demonstrate their knowledge and
skills, but how you will evaluate what they produce.):

The summative assessment will be completed informally by providing corrections to the students
answers as they are completing the activity. At the end of the activity an informal verbal
comprehension assessment will be completed by listening to the students discussions about the
worksheet.

Instructions: The words in the questions are scrambled and need to be unscrambled. Write the question in the

"For The First Time In Forever" Lyric Scavenger Hunt

(with Kristen Bell)

[Anna:]
The window is open, so's that door
I didn't know they did that anymore
_____ knew we owned eight thousand salad plates?
For years I've roamed these empty halls
_____ have a ballroom with no balls?
Finally they're opening up the gates
There'll be actual real live people
It'll be totally strange
But wow, am I so ready for this change!
'Cause for the first time in forever
There'll be music, there'll be light
For the first time in forever
I'll be dancing through the night
Don't know if I'm elated or gassy
But I'm somewhere in that zone
'Cause for the first time in forever
I won't be alone
I can't wait to meet everyone! [gasp]
____ if I meet... the one?
Tonight imagine me gown and all
Fetchingly draped against the wall
The picture of sophisticated grace
I suddenly see him standing there
A beautiful stranger, tall and fair
I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face

But then we laugh and talk all evening,

____ is totally bizarre
Nothing like the life I've led so far
For the first time in forever
There'll be magic, there'll be fun
For the first time in forever
I could be noticed by someone
And I know it is totally crazy
To dream I'd find romance
But for the first time in forever
At least I've got a chance

[Elsa:]
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, put on a show
Make one wrong move and everyone will know
[Elsa:] But it's only for today
[Anna:] It's only for today
[Elsa:] It's agony to wait
[Anna:] It's agony to wait
[Elsa:] Tell the guards to open up the gate
[Anna:] The gate
[Anna:] For the first time in forever
[Elsa:] Don't let them in, don't let them see
[Anna:] I'm getting what I'm dreaming of
[Elsa:] Be the good girl you always have to be
[Anna:] A chance to change my lonely world
[Elsa:] Conceal
[Anna:] A chance to find true love
[Elsa:] Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
[Anna:]
I know it all ends tomorrow,
So it has to be today
'Cause for the first time in forever
For the first time in forever
Nothing's in my way!
