    Locator assemblies are used in conjunction with a series of seal units and
    a guide shoe in single or multiple zone
    gravel-pack installations. The primary
    considerations in selecting a locator
    seal assembly are location indication
    and restriction of seal movement. The
    QUANTUM no-go locator can be
    landed on the packer with sufficient
    setdown weight to prevent upward

    movement, or sufficient seal length


    can be run so any anticipated tubing
    movement will not remove all the
    working seals from the bore of the
    packer. No-go locators allow retrieval
    by simply picking up. The no-go locators can also be used on tubing strings
    where the seals are allowed to float.
    The no-go locator uses standard
    bonded seals, which are tolerant to
    debris, tubing movement and pressure unloading, and they are supplied
    with a special spacer seal unit to provide optimum space-out of the seals in
    the packer bore.
    The locators are rated from 250F
    to 350F [121C to 177C], 6,000 psi
    and 10,000 psi [414 bar and 690 bar].
    They are available with chevron-type
    seals for HPHT applications and are
    manufactured from materials that
    comply with NACE standard MR0175
    for sulfide stress cracking resistant
    metallic materials.
