Sarah Thanks for always talking to us about home design, baking and your dog.
We seriously love you so much and are so happy that we got to know you this
year. You are the coolest, hippest, least eye-cabbage-y person we know. Also,
youre extremely stylish. Thanks for all the support and love you gave us this year!
Tam You are the most fabulous, organized, hard-working woman that we
know and never cease to amaze us with your knowledge of Duquesne. Thanks for
having the best laugh in the office and for always answering our stupid questions.
You are the best!
Dr. Frizzell Thanks for working with us this year on such short notice! We are
extremely grateful for your support and willingness to jump right into all of the
orientation festivities. Congratulations on the new job; we cant wait to see what
the future hold for orientation under your guidance!
Fr. Hogan Your support throughout the years for orientation has been such
a blessing. Thank you for your confidence in us and for all the help that you
consistently provided to orientation. The way you affected so many students lives
is incredible and we are so appreciative. Thank you!
President Dougherty - Thank you once again for your continued support of
Orientation and for allowing us to make you the face of the $500 Burgh Buck!
Dave Jakielo Congrats on the new job! Well miss you as our go-to guy for all
things publications. Thanks for letting us be so weird and not getting upset at the
insane amount of emails that weve sent you!
Taylor Tobias Thank you for the beautiful design. Despite some setbacks at the
beginning, we love everything that youve created for us. Your work this year has
truly been its best and well be honest, we brag to people about how good your
designs are!
Cheryl Knoch Thank you for you constant support for orientation and for
students as a whole. We appreciate how youve helped us so much this year in the
planning process! Thanks for always being there!
Marc Grandillo Thanks for your help with everything this year; we appreciate
how you are always right there with us trying to make things bigger and better
than ever before!

Amy Gross Orientation would be a mess and a half without you. You are the
most fabulous person ever. Thank you for answering endless questions, printing
endless packets, and booking endless rooms. You are the queen of 25Live!
Thanks, Amy!
Sharon, Annie, Dan, and all Res. Life Staff Thank you for your help and support
this year and all years. We cannot say it enough, but thank you. All that you do
is so essential to our program and we truly appreciate coordinating this special
week with you.
Chairs You are all so amazing. Without you, the two of us are just lost
visionaries. You make things happen. You inspire us when we are uninspired.
Your passion for freshmen, Duquesne, and life in general is unmatched. We
need more people like you in this world. Thank you for being a group of strong
individuals as well as for being a cohesive group. We appreciate more than you
could ever know. Most importantly, thanks for being our friends. We love you.
Team Leaders You guys are the most under-appreciated, over-worked,
amazing people on Duquesnes campus. You keep us coming back day in and day
out. Thank you a million times over for all that you do. Without you, orientation
does not exist. You are the ones inspiring and challenging the freshmen, not us.
For that, we are overwhelmingly grateful.
The Student Life Directors have been so helpful through the entire planning
process of Orientation. This is a program that takes a lot of work from a lot of
different angles and we could not have done it without your help! Thank you!
Wed like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the Deans and their staff, for
planning and organizing amazing events and for striving to make this program
the best yet!
Most importantly, wed like to thank
you, the incoming Class of 2015.
Thank you for choosing Duquesne
University as your own. We
hope that after this week, we
somehow inspired you to go
out there and make your own
unique mark on Duquesnes
campus. You are the heart and
soul of Duquesne.

Make friends outside of your major.
Take advantage of on campus resources.
Dont forget about the free classes at the Power Center.
Plan something for fun often enough to keep you stress free.
Acquire good time management skills; they will be a lifesaver.
Use the buddy system and stay smart!
Dont go home too often.
Experience the city. It is amazing.
Every time you walk into a building, you are not always
on the first floor.
Learn to take the stairs, you can stay fit and the
elevators can be slow.
Dont burn all your flex right away!
Keep an open mind about Orientation.
BE YOURSELF!
