Skeletal System Lab Report

The document discusses the human skeletal system and bones. It provides information on: - The functions of bones in protecting organs and allowing movement. - Key bones like the spine, made of 24 vertebrae that protect the spinal cord; the pelvis, which holds organs; and the skull, with 22 bones holding the brain. - Diseases that affect bone composition like rickets and osteogenesis imperfecta. - Current research on using nanomaterials and genetic engineering to develop regenerative medicines and therapeutics. - How forensic scientists can use skeletal remains to identify details about victims of human rights abuses, like their sex.
