Authorities released the name of a robbery suspect who was shot dead by police after stabbing two officers with a
knife.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the suspect on Tuesday as Rick Alan Redin, 47.
Redin's last known address was in Brooklyn Park.
Redin was shot by police Monday after he stabbed two officers who were responding to a call of a robbery in
progress at the Money Center.
Officer Charles T. Herzog, a 15-year veteran of the department, remained in satisfactory condition at Hennepin
County Medical Center on Tuesday. Officer Jason D. Walters, who has been with the department for 10 years, was
treated and released by Monday afternoon.
Officials say Redin had no prior contact with the Minneapolis Police Department, but he did have police contact in
Anoka, Coon Rapids, Ramsey, Osseo, Brooklyn Park, Spring Lake Park and Lino Lakes.
