This lesson is the third lesson in unit 7: Earth and our Universe moon characteristics . This lesson will cover
the characteristics of the moon, and how can we observe it.
Teaching goal (State clearly what it is you plan to teach in this lesson

The overall aim of the lesson is to review the lesson by applying different activities between the groups ,
individually and pairs, to enhance the lesson conception on their mind .

Learning objectives (State clearly exactly what you want the ss to be able to do by the end of
the lesson.

Students will be able to demonstrate understanding the characteristics of the moon.

Students know what are the moon phases.


Students have knowledge about the moon and it is characteristics .

Anticipated problems and possible solutions (Mention problems and solutions related to

Bushra is talking with his friend during the teacher explains for them the lesson the teacher will
repeat saying her name to catch her attention.
Abdulrahman did not understand what to do the teacher will ask someone who understand to explain
for him.
Mariam did not know how to read some words.. Teacher will every thing loudly.
Mahrah is very shy and she feels shy to talk with other .... The teacher do a good reinforcement to
encourage them such as. " sarah is a good thinker "
Mohammed is hyperactive the teacher will give him some duties such like distribute the papers
Personal focus for this lesson (Based on your previous observed lesson, identify one or two
aspects that need improving. Eg. be more animated, monitor children more closely, provide
more challenging tasks etc)

I will focus to encourage Mahrah to be confidence .


I am going to focus on time management . I only have 40 min to deliver this lesson .
I will focus in differentiation, to talk with each level in words that fit their understanding.

1. Showing the students a video about the moon

picture, the words will be distributed to
different girls as the same for pictures, and
they have to find their connection. whole

3. Reading sheet for each girl, then there will be a
question for each group they have to read to
find the answer, and the answer will be
represented in drawing in a small board. group

4. Activity three, (home work) the teacher will
show them what to do, they have to observe
the moon today, and define it phase, and draw
its shape.
5. Making a poster that include what do they have
learned for today, after they finish they will
present it in front of the class, then the teacher
will paste it in the back of the class.
6. At the end if there is an extra name, each
student has to draw a moon character and
name it.

The teacher will start the class by asking them about the class rules.

the lesson.

Explore

The teacher will distribute different words for different students, and pictures also to another
different students, and they have to find their partners
Lesson description:
Students are going to look for the word that fit the meaning of the picture

Materials:
Words, pictures.
The words are:
1. Moon
2. Craters
3. First quarter moon
4. Full moon
5. Moon phases

Explain

The teacher will give each student, a reading paper, and will give them 4 minutes to read it all. After they all
finish, the teacher will give them then one question for each group, they have to answer it by drawing the
answer in the white small board, after 4 minutes eah group will discus its question and the answer with the
whole class.
The questions are:
1. Wihich is much heavier , the moon or the earth?
2. The moon surface has many
3. How does the craters formed?
4. What are the two main areas in the moon?
5. The light areas on the moon are.
6. How does the dark areas formed?

Elaborate

The teacher will ask the students as a homework, to go home today and picture the moon, then define its phase,
and draw it.

Evaluate

The last 10 minutes of the lesson. Teacher will give to each group a big white card, to draw and write
what did they learned from todays class, then they will show it to their class, and the teacher will paste
their work in the back of the class.
If there is extra time, the teacher will let the students to draw a moon character and name it.
