Long Term Plan Internalized

I can explain how the sequence of learning goals in my LTP maximizes

student learning

The learning goals for reading spiral throughout the year to make
sure each student has mastery of the program. Each of the objectives
build on a prior knowledge from a prior objective. The objectives in the
first assessment set are assessed later at a higher level of mastery.

I can identify where the sequence of learning is STRONG

The objectives are strong because they are directly aligned to

the district assessment. This will help guide my teaching because I will
know on a district level where my students are at. Also, because my
curriculum spirals, I will be able to use this assessment for guiding my
future teaching based on the skills the students have mastered and
what objectives still need to be explained better.

I can identify where the sequence of learning is WEAK

The objectives may have to be adjusted in order to meet the

confines of my reading block and the needs of my students. The pacing
guide still gives me a general idea of what objectives I will teach in a
month long period, but I will have to adjust the order. Still, I will make
sure to hit mastery in the monthly objectives.

I also need to see the actually curriculum text books in order to

get a true understanding of what is lacking from the books. I plan on
highly supplementing my material in order to meet the cultural and
academic needs of my students.

How does management and investment fit in?

Management is what will allow me to get to facilitate meaningful

content. We will not be able to master the objectives if management
and procedures are not in place. Investment is directly tied to the
achievement of our big goal- we will average 80% on the CMB 1 and
every student will reach 80% on the CMB 2. The assessment set
objectives will help focus me as a mid term assessment. Students must
be invested in their learning in order to do well on the assessments
and therefore reach the big goal of our management plan

What holes or hotspots are present?

I have spoken with a Kindergarten teacher from Harrison who

said one of the largest problems with the district curriculum is that it
does not push students enough. Being aware of this, I will be able to
plan on how to dig deeper and move students to a greater
understanding of the objective. This will require me to view the 2nd
grade standards to identify what will be the next steps.
