• This sector has been growing at an annual growth
rate of about 28% during the last 5 years.
• The exports have grown up from US $ 19.1 billion to
US $ 73 billion in 2006.
• Presently services sector account for about 60% of
India’s GDP.
• India’s share in worldwide service exports is
expected to almost triple itself from current 2.3 % to
6 % by 2012, if the present annual growth rate of
28% has been maintained.

Assignment (to be submitted on Saturday – 16 Jan to CR)
Each GROUP of students will submit the following:
1. One Service Industry report covering world scenario of that
service business, growth rate, top five players, salient
features of the business.
2. One Service Industry report covering Indian scenario of that
service business, growth rate, top five players, salient
features of the business.
3. One Global Service Company report: covering the growth
trend of the company, its operational uniqueness, salient
features of the company.
4&5 (Two) Indian Service Company reports: covering the growth
trend of the company, its operational uniqueness, salient
features of the company.
6. One research paper covering global scenario from the EBSCO
or other journals
7. One research paper covering Indian scenario from the EBSCO
or other journals
