Making suggestions Agreeing
How / what about (+ gerund)? Absolutely. / Precisely / Exactly. Why don't you /we…? I totally agree. You should / ought to… So do I / Nor do I. If I were you, I’d… I can go along with that. I suggest / propose (+gerund)… I think you’re right up to a point. Disagreeing Reaction to suggestions You’re quite wrong there. That’s a good idea! I’m sorry, but I don’t agree at all. Yes, let’s do that. That’s an exaggeration. Yes, why not? Do you really think so? That isn’t possible / practicable / It isn’t as simple as that. feasible.
Asking for opinions
So what do you think, (name)? How do you feel about this/ that? Checking you have understood What is your view / position on…? Do you really mean to say…? Do you agree with that, (name)? So, if I understand you correctly, … Would you like to add anything, What exactly do you mean by that? Giving opinions (name)? I didn’t follow what you said about…. In my opinion / view… As far as I’m concerned… Correcting misunderstandings I think / feel… That’s not quite what I meant by… As I see it… Don’t get me wrong. What I meant To my mind…. was… You have got the wrong end of the Interrupting stick. Sorry to interrupt, but… Look, to put it another way, … May I interrupt you for a moment? Can I just make a point? Mind if I just say something?
