1. Bahasa merupakan sistem arti, bentuk, dan ekspresi.
2. Ketiga unsur itu merupakan semiotik.
3. Bahasa wujud dalam konteks sosial, yang terjadi dari
unsur Konteks Situasi, Budaya, dan Ideologi.
4. Konteks sosial merupakan semiotik konotatif.
5. Bahasa merupakan semiotik denotatif.
6. Pemakaian bahasa terjadi dari semiotik denotatif dan
konotatif.
7. Karena bahasa dalam pemakaiannya (teks) merupakan
fenomena sosial, tidak ada teks tanpa konteks.

dengan hubungan timbal balik: bahasa menentukan
konteks sosial dan pada gilirannya konteks sosial
membentuk teks.
