SRS / N-80 Connection


Modification

ML 350
ML 500
SRS 9000 codes
Steering Wheel and N-80 removed.
Refer to applicable WIS Document
Connection point for N-80
Remove connector from steering
column by depressing both tabs
behind connector.
Tabs on both sides
Note position of tabs and
connector.
Using a small pocket screw driver,
gently release the secondary pin
latch.
Slide secondary latch out of
connector housing noting position.
Trim Back insulation about 4/5
inches using scissors as apposed to
a razor blade.
Using a small flat blade, depress the
lock tab of the pin being removed,
pushing lightly towards to rear.
Cut off Pin and strip wire insulation
back approximately 1 to 2 mm
Identify the wire repair harness
for correct connections to N-80
Cut the repair harness approximately
3 to 4 inches from pin being used.
Strip repair harness end to 1 to 2
mm, solder to existing SRS lead
using Raychem butt connector.
Loop all leads to allow a tension
free connection.
Repeat with all effected SRS
leads.
Tape all wires back into the
previously cut insulation. Tape with
MB cloth tape.
Reinstall secondary connector
pin latch.
Reinstall connector in mounting, N-
80 and steering wheel as per WIS
instructions.
