1. Search the apparent magnitudes(視星等), the distances (from Earth) and the
associated constellation(所屬星座)of the following stars:
(a) Cynosura(勾陳一), (b) Canopus(南極老人星), (c) Altair(河鼓二).

2. (i) Given the sky maps for City A and City B as follows:

(a) Roughly locate the followings: Polaris(北極星), Ecliptic(黃道)and


the Autumnal Equinox(秋分點)on the maps.

determine the phase of the moon(月相)if it is located near the position of
the Autumnal Equinox(秋分點)on the celestial sphere(天球). Briefly
explain your answers.

3. Which of the followings will be observed at the mid-night of 14/02/2011 at Hong


Kong?
(a) Moon(月球), (b) Mercury(水星), (c) constellation Gemini(雙子座), and
(d) Saturn(土星).
(Please list the source(s) of information (if any) clearly)

4. Visit the TANG NGAN LENG Center for General Science Education at Chung
Chi College (Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm).

By taking photos of the “solar system


model”(太陽系模型)there to show the
configurations of the followings:

(i) Venus at Greatest Eastern


Elongation(金星東大距),
(ii) Venus at Superior Conjunction
(金星上合),
(iii) Saturn at Opposition(土星衝),
(iv) Mars-Sun Conjunction(火星合日).

appropriate labels.
