INTRODUCTION

Industrial progress of a country depends on its committed employee force. The


schemes of employee welfare may be regarded as “a wise investment” which should
and usually does bring a profitable return in the form of greater efficiency.

EMPLOYEE WELFARE

The term employee welfare means to fare or to do well. It refers to physical, mental,
emotional well being of an individual.

Welfare is relative to time and space. The relative needs may vary from company to
another company and from place to place and time to time. The work place should
provide reasonable amenities for everyone’s essential needs. The employees should
also be equipped with the necessary technical training and a certain level of general
education.

DEFINITION

Oxford dictionary defines welfare as “state or condition of doing or being well: good
fortune, happiness or well being of person, community or things.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The social and economic aspects of the life of a employees have a direct influence on
this social and economic development of a nation. The economic development of
country depends upon the rapid growth of the industry. The study on employee welfare
attempts to analyze and determine to know the employee satisfaction with the welfare
measures of the company and also to find out to know the welfare facilities of the
company.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

To provide better life and health to the employees.


To make the workers happy and satisfied.
To study the reaction, the employees towards the welfare measures in terms of
their awareness, perception and level of satisfaction with their facilities.
To make suitable suggestion and recommendation with a view to improve the
existing welfare measures, if necessary.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Employee welfare work has increased with changing opportunities and needs to meet
varying situations. It is also increasing with the growing knowledge and of experience of
techniques.

The best of welfare activity is that it removes, directly or indirectly or any physical or
mental of the workers and resorts to him peace and joy of living. The welfare work
embraces the workers and his family.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE

As I am doing the research of the first time, to get to know with the concepts and
methods or to get acquainted with the method of doing the research. I had gone through
some of the previous report. I got the idea of the research and which helped me
preparing the report.

Research conducted on the effectiveness on the training program at KSIC. The


company’s websites were referred for descriptive information on the company profile.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Primary Data:

The primary information so collected was informal discussion with respective


departmental heads.

Secondary Data:

The secondary data for the study was taken from the company’s annual report,
management textbook and internet.

SAMPLING

Sample Size

Sample size refers to number of elements to be included in the study. The sample size
of respondents was decided to be 40.
Sampling Technique

Sampling technique is a technique in which instead of every unit of the universe, only a
part of the universe is studied and conclusion are drawn on that basis for entire
universe. The stratified random sampling technique was used to collect the data for the
study. Stratified random sampling refers to the sampling technique in sub which the
population is divided into several population that are more homogeneous that the
population and then we select as sample.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

 Employees were reluctant to give sufficient information for this study.


 The report does not provide in-depth study of problems of employees.
 Analysis of the data was done on the assumption that the respondents have
provided the true responses.
 Frequent visiting to the various department and collecting information was not
possible.
