Proven Effective
Microban antimicrobial product protection is engineered to protect Luxury Bath Systems from bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration. Products engineered with Microban protection undergo rigorous independent laboratory testing using industry standard testing methods and have a long history of safe use. Microban protection is registered with the EPA for all applications in which it is used. Microban additives can be found in leading consumer and industrial products around the world.

How It Works
Microban technology is built-in to a product during the manufacturing process and becomes an intrinsic part of the product inside and at the surface. When microbes, such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration come in contact with the product surface, Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that the microbe cannot function, grow or reproduce. Microban protection inhibits the growth of bacteria that can cause stains and odors on the tub surface. The continuous antimicrobial protection makes your tub surface easier to clean and keeps it cleaner between cleanings. Because its built-in during manufacturing, it wont wash off or wear away, for an added level of cleanliness that will last the life of your tub or shower. The Microban brand is your assurance of continuous, durable and effective antimicrobial protection that will provide an added level of defense against damaging microbes for the useful lifetime of the product. Microban protection begins to work as soon as the microorganism comes into contact with the product surface. It then works continuously to maintain a consistently lower bio-burden than would be expected on a product without Microban antimicrobial protection.

These samples were tested for efficacy against bacteria using the Kirby Bauer test method. Both samples were inoculated with bacteria and then photographed after 24 hours. The left sample was manufactured with Microban protection and the right sample was untreated. The sample with built-in Microban protection showed no growth. The untreated sample showed significant contamination.
