Intended Module Learning Outcomes: On completion of this module, the student should be able to: 1) Explain the difference between data and information and its significance as a corporate resource. 2) Describe the major characteristics of relational database and the concept of normalization. 3) Apply fundamental techniques in database systems development. 4) Analyze, design and implement a database solution to a specified commercial need. 5) Perform simple data processing tasks using Structured Query Language.

QUESTION:

1. Design and implement a customized database application for a

business, college, department or store of your choice using Microsoft Access 2007. Your customized database application must have the following basic details:
a) At least 6 tables with their assigned primary indexes. b) The appropriate relationships between the relations must

be identified and created.


c) Forms (at least 5) to allow for input data must be created

and these linked to a switchboard.


d) The customized database application must be capable of

generating at least 4 well-formatted reports through a standard query processing feature.

2. With the aid of an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram), write a two (2)

page Executive Report explaining how the various entities and relationships in the customized database were conceptually modeled.
