VED 750 Minor Project
Guidelines for preparing written reports The format of the report should be as follows: 1) Title Page: containing title of the project, Final Report of VED750 Minor Project submitted by, name of students with entry numbers, under the guidance of, name of supervisor(s), IIT Delhi Logo and National Resource Centre for Value Education in Engineering, IIT, Delhi, <Month name> <Year> in the usual report cover page format submitted by B.Tech final project reports. 2) Abstract, upto about 500 words. 3) Acknowledgements 4) Table of contents 5) Chapter 1: Introduction: Upto about 3-4 pages: containing Motivation and background of problem and problem definition, objectives, and chapterwise layout of this report. 6) Chapter 2: Review of literature / Study of background material / Prior work on same or similar topic, concluding with detailed scope of present work in view of the literature. 7) Chapter 3 onwards: The body content of the present report. Please divide the work into logical chapters containing different elements of the work done. 8) Last chapter: Conclusions and scope for further work. In this, please make sure to bring out the value dimension of the work presented in the report. 9) References: in the standard format internationally accepted: either numbered in the order in which they appeared in the text, or in alphabetical order of the surname of the first author (cited in text as Author(year)). 10) Appendices if any. The report should be submitted after the supervisor(s) have read them and with the signature of the supervisor(s). Two copies of the report must be softbound with no plastic cover and submitted by 5 p.m. on the day specified by the Centre/Institute for this purpose. One copy of the report must be submitted to their concerned Project Examiner and the other copy must be submitted to the Course Coordinator.
