of athletes. Fantastic, but did mean a bit of a backlog on the track and a late night on Tuesday. For the first few weeks whilst numbers settle we will just have to do out best. We will then review if we need to make any changes. Saturday also saw large PTOC turn out with 80 athletes- Amazing. Our Club is growing and the kids have a great time. We ask for patience and lots of parental help to make it a good season for all, Barbara Junior Club Captain

We had a bit of an on off session with the weather last week we apologise to those who may .have missed out. We did the best we could and we will be meeting to discuss the best cancellation plan. We have now had over 60 athletes interested in the coaching and will be looking at ways to increase our coaching pool to offer the best service to you all. Remember the first 2 sessions are free but thereafter all athletes must be club registered and coaching registered. There will be a 10% reduction in cost for multiple family members. Message from Chris our Coaching Convener: Well done on such a positive start to the season! The first couple of weeks has seen large numbers of athletes for coaching on Thursdays (over 60 registered) and over 80 athletes on Saturday for the delayed first interclub meet. It was real buzz to feel the energy, excitement and sense of community built around families supporting theirs and others athletes. Well done to juniors and seniors who stepped outside of their comfort zones trying new events be they throws, jumps, vaulting, hurdles and longer distance running. Now that the season is a couple of weeks in the coaches are getting an idea of numbers so that we can provide the best possible level of service to all of our athletes from the under 7's to seniors. We will continue to respond to the athletic development needs and aspirations of athletes and this will include coach development with Athletics Canterbury for complete newbies through to experienced coaches. We will aim to keep you as informed as possible with coaching courses, clinics and other opportunities to grow coaching capability in and connected to the club. So, if you are interested in learning about coaching and developing your knowledge and skills in athletics coaching email me on chris@menes.co.nz and you'll go onto the PTH Club coaching database. Best wishes to all of you and especially those of you preparing for school sports, national secondary school champs and multi-events over the next few weeks. Cheers, Chris

Click for directions Our new AGM system was a great success and many thanks to all of you who stepped up. With a parent acting as AGM the kids can be organised together, warmed up, go to events together, and make friends. Parents within that group can get to know each other too.d We will continue to fine tune things and develop the roles. Ian Graham did a great skills session with one of our groups on starts and is happy to do this with each group on a Saturday. So if you are an AGM we will introduce you to Ian and arrange a time for him to have a session with your group. I hope we can do something similar with relays.
Damian managed to get 7 girls into hurdles on week one of the season which is fantastic. We got 1st 2nd and 5th in the 13G and we had 4 girls compete in the 12G section. Go Girls ( and Damian!! )

Tuesday nights we will make a decision at 3pm and post on Facebook, email a notice and try and get it on the website Coaching cancellations did not work well this week so at this time parents will just have to make the call as to whether they come down and see who is there. We will be clarifying this further once we have our next committee meeting. We are also working at getting a cancellation Txt service for the Club so watch this space
