WELCOME
New Members
Over the last 10 months, we have frequently referenced our commitment to developing a
comprehensive strategic plan for our members, staff, and future boards. I am pleased to
announce that after countless hours, we have a plan in place. Thank you to everyone who has
dedicated their time to get this right.
The six critical factors of the plan will be used by our staff, board of directors, and committee
members to remain focused on the goals and objectives most requested by our membership.
These factors are:
1.) Grow and Retain Membership: Achieve levels where waitlists may exist in certain categories.
2.) Elevate Membership Experience: Address survey gaps with better service, facilities, amenities,
and staff engagement.
3.) Maintain Fiscal Health and Responsibility: Ensure balance sheet performance and operational
budgets will successfully adapt to economic changes.
4.) Develop a Capital Plan: Address aging facilities and provide amenities within the wants and
means of our membership.
5.) Implement Employee Strategy: Focus on engagement, retention, training, and culture to make
Troy CC an employer of choice.
6.) Governance: Enhance engagement from membership in board and committee governance to
work alongside management.
Within these categories are hundreds of subcategories of goals and objectives that will be
achieved over the next five years and will continue to evolve long into the future as we remain
focused on the club’s mission. Membership will continue to dictate our direction, but we now
have a living plan to remain consistent from year to year and board to board.
(continued)
Speaking of consistency, at the completion of this year, we have three terms expiring on our
board, all of which are held by our last three Club Presidents. Our club is at an exciting yet
pivotal point in its history. This transition opens the door for new leadership, and we are
looking for individuals with business acumen, collaborative mindsets, and selfless decision-
making skills to step forward and guide our club into a promising future. If you think you
would be a candidate for our board or a committee, please see me or Phil to discuss the next
steps.
Thank you all for your commitment to our club. I am excited to enjoy our future success
together. Please remember that you can contact our board with any questions, concerns, or
feedback at troyccboard@gmail.com.

Over the past few weeks, the tennis courts were cleaned, cracks repaired, and a fresh coat of
paint was received. The courts are lined for pickleball as well. The surface looks great and ready
for midsummer racquet sports. Most members may not be aware that we have lights at the
courts that will allow you to play after dark. After crossing the creek, there is a silver box with
three switches, each controlling the lights for one of the courts. This allows you to come out
anytime and use the courts. Any questions regarding tennis please contact Steve Brumbaugh
at 937-216-6066
The Grille Room deck, a recent addition to our facilities, was completed at the end of June.
With new furniture and umbrellas, it offers a refreshing and comfortable dining experience.
When making your reservations, don't forget to request a table on the Grille Deck for a
delightful summer meal.
As the school year sneaks up on us, I wanted to remind you of the change in the pool hours.
Once school starts the week of the 19th, we start weekend hours. The pool will be open on
Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This will continue until Labor Day Weekend,
and the Pool will close for the season on September 2nd at 7:00 p.m. We have a great season
going at the pool and look forward to seeing you enjoy the remainder of the season.
I mentioned the pool hours and wanted to remind everyone again to please be aware of the
little ones walking with their parents through the parking lot. Everyone needs to be careful
when driving in their car or golf cart. The little folks are our future members.
As we approach the middle of August, we will bid farewell to our current staff (17) as they head
back to school for the fall semester. Their hard work and dedication have been instrumental in
making our summer a success, and I would like to thank them personally. I hope you will join me
in expressing our gratitude. The Club wouldn't be the same without them.
I look forward to seeing you out enjoying your Club.

Our 1st Pickle ball Tournament (Make-up date) – Aug 9th – 6:30-8:30pm- We are going to run
our first pickle ball tournament (doubles only for our first tournament) on Friday night starting
at 6:30 pm. We are going to have 2 divisions, beginner and advanced. We had to postpone the
event due to our courts being resurfaced, and then the July make up got rained out. Please
sign up by calling Steve Brumbaugh here at the tennis house. Cost is $30 a team.
FALL CLINICS SPECIAL: Summer clinics will continue right into the fall season. There will be no
change in time for the clinics. (see the clinic schedule on the website) I will be offering a Fall

4, 1 ½ hour clinics it is $90.
If you have a conflict with the given schedule but would still like to take advantage of the Troy
Country Club tennis facility and instruction this fall, please let me know, and I will try to find a
new time that fits your schedule. I would love to work out a time for you and your friends and
have a clinic built around your schedule. Fall is a beautiful season to play tennis outdoors – I
am available for private lessons as well – let’s keep outdoor tennis here as long as we can
before winter strikes!
