Name: Edith Roynald Matric No: CT10210176 Course: English Grammar INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIONS During this case study

that we have conducted, I experienced some problems like the rest of my group members. Nevertheless, I thanked God because of the patience He gave to us in finishing this case study. As many of us faced during this case study was the internet connection. I only get to use the 1 Bestari internet in my school to search for information and sending out e-mails to my group members. But sometimes I used celcom broadband at my house but the line is very limited. I only used celcom broadband when we discussed in our facebook group for English Grammar. Before conducting, we did some discussion about what topic should we use in conducting our lesson plan. At first, I suggested punctuation as I found that my pupils tend to do mistakes when writing. Not only in English lesson, have the Malay language teachers too faced the same problems. I do not know why the pupils mix capital letters and small letter when writing sentences. For example: i) I haVe long hair and like to wear Skirt.

However, we were told that punctuation problem is minor so we changed our topic again to Simple Past Tense but then we were advised to change it to Problems in Simple Present Tense, Continuous Tense, Simple Past Tense and Continuous Past Tense. So when that was settled, we began creating the lesson plan. However, we faced problem when deciding what kind of worksheets we would use. It bought us some times to get the right worksheet for this study case. I have conducted the lesson plan that we have prepared earlier in primary 4 but I did not conduct it in the classroom rather in the school library. My school is situated in rural area so there is no electricity supply in the school. We only use the solar power hybrid. However, the school library is the only room that is connected with the solar power hybrid. The school library is very convenient as it has a fan and internet connection which we called, 1Bestari net. I asked the

pupils to go into the library and sat on the floor as the library does not have chairs and tables to sit on or do works. The pupils were excited when I told them that I was going to let them watch a story entitled, The Blue Whale Who ate everything. As the library do not have projector, I only used my small laptop. The pupils managed to watch everything and including the power point slides activity, thank goodness for that. They were very quiet when they watched the story. They were very excited indeed. When the story had ended, I asked them a few questions about the story and they could answer it. Then, I showed them the power point activity where they have to answer in groups. I let them divide themselves. They could discuss among the group members for the answers. After that, I gave them the pre-test question. This time, they have to answer on their own. When I checked the answer, most of them could answer it. Then, after checking the pre-test, I gave them the post-test. The post-test too in multiple choice questions with pictures guiding the pupils to answer it. When I checked the papers, most of the pupils could answer it. I was really glad with the case study that we conducted. It shows improvement among the pupil when using interesting materials. It attracts the pupils to pay attention to the lesson process and at the same time understand the use of simple present tense, continuous tense, simple past tense and continuous past tense. For the conclusion, study case can encourage collaborative learning and team-working skills in the language of pupils. It also develops critical thinking and reflective learning in pupils. Not only for pupils, teachers can create exercises from the mistakes or teacher can simply go through the major mistakes and explain the correct form after doing the case study and identifying the problems that arises in pupils learning of English grammar.
