Classroom Manners Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to Puan Hjh Rusidah binti H Saian, the Principal of SMK

Lokman Hakim, Senior Assistant of Curriculum, Puan Hjh Noor Zaini binti Hj Danian, Senior Assistant of Student Affairs, Puan Hjh Asmima binti Sairy, Senior Assisntant of Co-Curricular, Puan Norizan Binti Mohamad, Specialist teachers, Head of Departments, teachers and friends. I am ____________________________ an d I would like to talk about Manners in the Classroom. Teachers and friends, Manners make the man. Manners in the classroom are really important for us to follow to get the barakah in our studies. First, we should come to class punctually. If we are late, we should ask for an apology from the teacher either at the time or after class. Coming late to class for a few times or repeated lateness is a form of rudeness, as a latercomer takes away everyones attention from the lesson. Second, It is bad manners in the classroom to talk while anyone else is talking. If you have something to say on the subject, wait till you have a chance and say it to the whole class. If it is not on the subject, keep it till the class is over. Thoughtlessness of others is considered bad manners at any time in any place. Dont interrupt your teacher or anyone who is reading, reciting or speaking. It is also bad manners to keep silent when the teacher asks you a question. If you do not know the answer, say so immediately in a voice loud enough for the whole class to hear. Third, It is bad manners in the classroom to look at anything your neighbor or the person who is sitting beside you has written, or to try to see what mark he has received without

asking for his permission. In examinations and in certain kinds of written work intended to measure a students own progress, it is not only dishonest but foolish to help or to ask for help from one another.

Fourth, It is bad manners to laugh at anothers mistake or bad fortune. Just realize how you feel yourself when laughed at. Unfortunate people should be treated with real kindness.

Fifth, Looking down on others is one of the worst forms of rudeness. Do not be proud of yourself in front of others. If your friend does not have as much money, he may have more brains. You will discover very fine qualities in the person you are tempted to laugh at, if you are friendly and open-minded. Sixth,It is good manners for students to help the teacher by helping them. Students can help their teacher to wipe the blackboard, to shut or open the doors or windows, and to collect or distribute papers. This kind of help is always appreciated. Last but not least, It is bad manners to destroy any of the school property. It means that you care less for others than you do for yourself. I hope you can change yourself into a better student and practice good manners that I have mentioned earlier in your classroom. By doing that, it will make all teachers feel better and more enthusiastic in teaching us. With that, I thank you.
