Candidate No. 1: SAMSON ALCANTARA

Among his priorities are jobs and youth. He called on government agencies to work together to make it easier for entrepreneurs to do business in the country. He will push for schools-to-jobs matching programs in order to prepare fresh graduates for the workplace and boost overall employment. His platform also goes beyond merely improving the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program, but is really focused on generating jobs, matching the curriculum with the needs of industries, and making it easier to do business in the Philippines in order to support our micro-enterprises and generate even more jobs and livelihood for the economy.

PLATFORMS: NANCY BINAY The focal point of her platform is improving housing services and childrens health and education through establishing housing reform and Childrens rights and welfare homes which she believes will address the key problems in the housing sector. She also seeks for more rights for children and measures undertaken to ensure the safety and health of even the most at risk kids. She expresses strong support for the advocacy for legal adoption of orphans spearheaded nationwide by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and vows review current adoption laws to identify bottlenecks in the bureaucracy and speed up the process of legal adoption, without compromising the childs rights and interests.

He also is an advocate for empowering the people as key in changing governance and society, fighting for an honest and excellent public service; developing a so-called "pro-Filipino economy"; prioritize giving adequate work and decent wages to the workers, free land and subsidy to the farmers, provide food security, as well as greater access to social services such as education, health, housing, utilities and other needs; protecting the environment; addressing the problem of climate change; and developing the use of clean and renewable energy. He also aspires to build new foreign relations based on respect for national sovereignty and mutual benefit; defend democratic and human rights by putting a stop to the political repression of activists, journalists and critics of government; uphold the right to self-determination of the BangsaMoro and indigenous peoples'; promote nationalist, patriotic, pro-people, pro-environment, scientific, and progressive education and culture; uphold womens rights and gender equality; and, advance the peace negotiations and the implementation of agreements between the government and the National Democratic Front and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

He also envisions an absolutely free public education system, for he believes that it is through education that the youth are equipped with the proper knowledge and skills to acquire the jobs they need and earn the wages they deserve.

And as part of the "Ang Kapatiran Party", he wants to reform Philippine politics by participating in it in a morally-principled manner by showing the people that upright leaders can participate in politics and eventually win and make a difference. He is running on a platform of radical and transformative politics that would abolish the graft-ridden pork barrel system, do away with entrenched political dynasties, impose gun control, and remove all forms of gambling.

According to him, If we want to achieve food security and sovereignty, we must adopt a rationalized food master plan which will help ensure a steady and affordable supply of food,. Other platforms he is pursuing are the kasambahay bill, credit card reform, anti-monopoly and charter change. He strongly favors the amendments of certain provisions in our constitution particularly those that directly impact our agricultural sector.
