Point-to-point telecommunications generally refers to a connection restricted to two endpoints, usually host computers. Point-to-point is sometimes referred to as P2P, or Pt2Pt, or variations of this. Among other things, P2P also refers to peer-to-peer file sharing networks. Point-to-point is distinct from point-to-multipoint where point-to-multipoint also refers to broadcast or downlink.
implemented through an RS-232 interface, or something similar. Computers in close proximity may be connected by wires directly between their interface cards. When connected at a distance, each endpoint would be fitted with a modem to convert analog telecommunications signals into a digital data stream. When the connection used a telecommunications provider, the connections were called a dedicated, leased, or private line. The ARPANET used leased lines to provide point-to-point data links between its packet-switching nodes, which were called Interface Message Processors.
server site, instead of each department hosting its own records system. Mutua considered wireline connectivity options; however, fiber was too expensive and the recurring charges for leased lines were too high.
a feasible option because of the high cost of equipment and licenses. Working in unlicensed bands seemed like a good option, but since we had to install several radios in close proximity we needed a solution that could overcome the problem of collocation interference.
interconnecting all sites and providing central connectivity to the Internet, public telephone network and Records system. Mutua is delighted with the result. He said: What makes RADWINs Multi Point-to-Point solution so appealing for us is that each location receives high-capacity dedicated bandwidth with maximum reliability. RADWIN and Open Systems have surpassed our expectations on the implementation of this network, and this project has become a showcase for other ministries who are interested in doing a similar deployment.
Greater efficiency - The ability to easily share data between the departments make the government more efficient and responsive to the public's needs.

RADWIN - E1/T1:
Cellular Backhaul
Meeting
the
escalating
demand
for
backhaul
The escalating demand for high bandwidth applications has created a new and exciting world of opportunities and revenue. Cellular operators are focused on extending their networks to reach more subscribers and provide more bandwidth to each customer. Meanwhile, harsh competition as well as declining ARPUs (Average Revenue Per User) has created a vital need to reduce network costs while delivering robust, high quality services.
With backhaul expenses representing a significant chunk of network costs, carriers must find a way to enhance backhaul capacity while reducing its cost per bit, minimizing both CAPEX and OPEX. RADWIN's wireless broadband Point-to-Point solutions are the ultimate answerproviding future proof backhaul that is simpler, more affordable, and easier to install than existing wireless alternatives.
Connecting
the
global
village
Leading the sub-6GHz space, RADWIN empowers cellular carriers with a backhaul solution that meet their needs in a variety of deployment scenarios.
1.
Reaching out to rural subscribers In rural areas population density is low and ARPU is lower than in urban areas. Moreover, the huge expenses involved in building infrastructure in rural areas create an additional challenge for carriers. RADWIN's sub-6GHz backhaul solutions enable easy and affordable expansion of the cellular network by providing high-capacity and long-reach backhaul that is competitively priced and easy to maintain.
2.
Delivering enhanced service in urban areas When customers demand advanced services and increased capacity, using RADWIN solutions carriers can now deliver cellular service to hard-to-cover spots, address peak-hour traffic requirements, and enhance capacityall at marginal costs.
3.
Easy and affordable 3G ramp-up Migration to 3G and 4G networks requires enhanced capacity and an increased number of base stations. This growth often means an investment in expanding the infrastructure while ROI remains uncertain. RADWIN meets this challenge head on by providing high-
capacity long-reach throughput at the lowest possible price points. Service providers can now maintain profitability while ramping up their existing networks to meet growing customer demands.
IP Backhaul
Today's
evolving
and
ever-changing
market
After years of market trials, Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators are finally moving towards larger-scale WiMAX operations. At the roll-out stage, WiMAX operators cope with heavy investments in infrastructure and a limited, yet emerging subscriber base. Faced with this challenge, operators must make critical business decisions, and at long last, are committed to decrease total cost of ownership to build and maintain a viable, profitable business.
Backhaul expenses present a significant part of operators cost of ownership. Incorporating a smart backhaul strategy will ultimately enable operators to lower costs without compromising on service quality or performance.

Connecting people who live in rural environments is a major challenge. Most rural populations live out-of-reach of the existing communications infrastructure, the typical average revenue per user (ARPU) is low, and the rural environment poses numerous economical and operational difficulties such as rough terrain, limited power supply and dearth of skilled labor.
But rural populations hold tremendous potential because of their sheer size and their thirst for communication services. To capitalize on the potential, service providers
