REFLECTIVE JOURNAL WEEK (10/02/2014 until 14/02/2014)

1. Issue/problems/event Worksheet that was provided does not suitable with the level of intelligence of pupils. The worksheets were too simple, easy and not challenging for pupils. (Year 2 Jaya, for World of Science and Technology).

2. Views and feelings about issue/problems/event

I felt guilty because I had provided worksheets that were too simple and easy to be solved by my Year 2 pupils. I hope that this problem does not happen again in the future. Luckily, this problem was identified earlier.

3. Analysis of issue/problem/event 3.1 Cause

This problem happens because I want to make an interesting activity to attract pupils attention and focus until I ignore pupils level of intelligence. Besides that, I assume that my pupils do not know the content to be taught. This causes me to provide worksheets that are low from the normal level of my pupils.

Strengths/Weaknesses

The strengths indentified are I need to provide worksheets that are interesting to be solved and pupils can complete the worksheets correctly, without the guidance from teacher. The weakness identified is pupils can finish the

worksheets at fast speed, causing extra time.

4. Suggestion(s) to solve issue

Review the level of intelligence of pupils in the class taught as every pupil has different level of intelligence. Besides that, I need to provide worksheets with multiple level of intelligence and suitable with the topic to cater the pupils need.

5. Duration of time to overcome the issue

Overcoming this issue will take a period of time. I need at least a week to overcome this issue as I only enter the class once a week. If God wills, I can apply the suggestion above when teaching in the class.

6. Implementation of measures to improve

Use easier worksheets first then only use more difficult worksheets as reinforcement activity so that pupils can complete the worksheets without guidance from teacher.

7. Enforcement

Review the level of intelligence for every pupils before preparing the worksheets. This is because I need to fulfill the level of intelligence for every pupil. I can use easier worksheets, followed by difficult worksheets.
