The club operates an efficient business model which
shares costs among equity property owners, social mem-
bers who have access to the club and typically stay in our
143 room Oceanside Inn or one of our vacation rental
properties, and select conferences and board meetings,
said Weinstein. In fact, when you combine our low

In the past two years, big projects included the open-
ing of a 30,000 square-foot members fitness center and

The various clubs within Ocean Reef allow members to

tive sailing and flying to the more cerebral art and activ-
ities including painting, sculpture, bridge and wood-
working clubs. There is a fit for everyones passion.
SURROUNDED BY WATER
Ocean Reef is adjacent to the only living coral reef in
North American waters. Supporting a healthy habitat for
marine life, there are three distinct fishing opportuni-
tiesflats, reef, and deep water.
The shallow flats, a 10-minute boat ride away, offers
some of the best fishing in the world for bonefish tarpon
and permit.
On the Reef just three miles seaward, anglers will
encounter grouper and snapper, not to mention the oppor-
tunity to bring home lobsters while diving or snorkeling.
Further east, the Gulf Stream brings in trophy con-
tenders with sailfish, tuna and mahi-mahi.

With a grocery store and an Orvis fly-fishing shop next
door to a Tommy Bahama Relax, Lilly Pulitzer, Jay
Mclaughlin and Vineyard Vines, along with other inde-
pendent shops, you have everything you need just a golf
cart ride away, said Paul Bobik president of Ocean Reef
Club Real Estate Company.
A member-owned and operated club means that
member satisfaction comes first. For example, our restau-
rants provide room service to residences and boats. We
even opened two dog parks so smaller dogs wouldnt be
intimidated by their larger furry friends.

KEY LARGO, FLORIDA: (50 MILES SOUTH OF MIAMI): The Ocean Reef Club is a
private, member-owned, and debt-free club community set on 2,500 lush acres on the
edge of the Atlantic. Its coastline is famous for great fishing and the only live coral reef
in North America.
Ocean Reef started in 1948 as a private fishing camp. In
1955, the club opened a nine-hole golf course to keep mem-
bers occupied on days when rough seas spoiled fishing.
Over the ensuing years, its enterprising membership creat-
