Government Engineering College, Barton Hill is a premier institute located right at the heart of the

Course Aim
To train aspiring engineers on latest automotive technology using latest, world-class tools and equipments to fulfill
the need for skilled human resources in automotive field.
To develop multi disciplinary competency amongst engineers to cater to the contemporary automotive technology.
To develop various soft skills and in particular thorough communication skills.
Course Objectives:
After completion of this course the students will be able to
Remove and install components of a car.
Measure mechanical, electrical and electronics parameters for systems and components used in a car
Carry out PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and Maintenance of a car.
Read and interpret the wiring diagrams of a car.
Use modern diagnostic equipments.
Diagnose various faults and rectify the same.
Communicate with customers and others for technical issues on the vehicle.

Candidates who have a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering / Electrical & Electronics
Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Mechatronics / Applied Electronics and equivalent disciplines
Submission of Application
Application forms are available on the website of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates seeking admission can send downloaded and duly filled in application form. The form should accompany a
Demand Draft of Rs 500/- in the name of Coordinator, ADAM, Government Engineering College, Barton Hill. All such
applications will be scrutinized and eligible candidates will be called for the entrance test. Result of the entrance test and list
of finally selected candidates will be displayed on website within 10 days after entrance test. For more details, please refer

Admission to the Course
Admission to the course is through entrance test conducted at the college. Entrance test comprises of theory as well as
practical tests.

Selection of Candidates
1. Admission will be made strictly on merit for all categories of candidates.
2. Applications should be addressed to The Coordinator, ADAM, Govt. Engineering College, Barton Hill,
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Pin 695035. Applications received late or incomplete will be rejected.
3. Entrance examination will be conducted at GEC Barton Hill.
4. A merit list will be published based on the entrance examination.
5. It is mandatory for the candidates to attend interview-cum-counseling in person for admission at their own expense.
No proxy is allowed.
6. Candidates who fail to appear for interview-cum-counseling on the specified date and time will not be considered.
7. Selected students will be required to pay full fee at the time of admission. The fees for admission to the course
shall be accepted only in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Coordinator, ADAM, Govt. Engineering
College, Barton Hill payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
8. Admission of the eligible candidates, who do not deposit the prescribed fees in full and produce the original
certificates for verification within the prescribed time after selection, shall stand automatically cancelled and
vacancies so caused shall be offered to the candidates next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeal in this
connection will be entertained by GEC Barton Hill.
9. Seats remaining vacant, for whatsoever reasons, shall be filled up in the subsequent round, by following the same
procedure as in the first round, and as per the given schedule.
10. The decision of the ADAM Governing Council will be final in interpreting the rules of admission. Legal disputes if
any will come under the jurisdiction of Court at Thiruvananthapuram.
Regulations Regarding Admission
Original certificates should be produced at the time of admission.
Rules and Regulations After Admission
1. All the students are required to have their identity card with them while they are in the campus. Identity cards will
be supplied by the College at the time of admission.
2. The students should keep all the receipts obtained from the college and should produce them for verification if
required.
3. No refund will be given to the students who discontinue the course after enrollment.
4. Students admitted to the college, should strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the college.
5. Arrangements will be made for providing hostel accommodation to the students, outside the campus. No hostel
facility is available at the college. Students have to bear the actual expenses for accommodation.
6. Students have to wear uniform in the campus, the details of which will be given at the time of admission

On completion of the course, the students will have to appear for the final examination and successful candidates
will be awarded certificate duly signed by the Director of Technical Education, Kerala and Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd.
