Seam Allowances
3/8 (1cm) seam allowances are included unless instructed otherwise.

1. Baste 1/8 (0.3cm) from the


edge of the lace trim.

2. Gently pull the bobbin thread


to gather, and then pin and
stitch the lace to the front panel.

3. Pin and stitch the lining to


the panel, right sides together.
Clip and trim the curves.

4. Turn to the right side and


press.

5. Topstitch.

6. Fold Tie pieces in half


lengthwise, right sides together.
Cut a 45 degree angled piece off
one end of each tie.

7. Stitch each tie piece, leaving


one end open.

8. Turn each tie piece to the right


side and press.

9. Topstitch.

width of apron + trim + seam allowance = waistband width

10. Measure and cut a rectangular


waistband piece that is 2 1/2
wide (6cm) and the width of your
apron and trim combined plus
seam allowance.

11. Place tie piece in the centre of


the waistband.

12. Fold tie into a pleat.

13. Fold waistband over pleated


tie. Pin in place and repeat with
other tie piece on other side of
waistband.

14. Stitch tie to waistband at


each end.

15. Turn waistband to the right


side. Fold in raw edges of
waistband and press.

16. Insert apron panel into


waistband and sew together,
backstitching at each end.

Printing and Piecing Pattern Together


1.

All pages should be printed on standard paper. Using Adobe Reader (free to
download) is recommended but may not be necessary.

2.

Make sure that Auto Rotate and Center is selected and that Scaling is NOT. If
you have a newer version of Adobe Reader, your options might look like Fit to
Size or Actual Size. If that is the case, make sure you choose Actual Size.

3.

To make sure youre printing the right size pattern, measure test square.

4.

If you live outside Canada or the US, print the pages to your standard paper size.

5.

To connect each page, trim to the grey border (do not cut the grey border off),
and match the letters in the corners of the pages. Do not overlap the grey border.

6.

Tape the pages together.

7.

Cut along your size line indicated in the size key on the pattern. You may prefer
to trace your size onto tracing paper and then cut it out. Transfer all markings to
your fabric.
