THE NOLA TREE

CODE OF CONDUCT CONTRACT

***
As a volunteer, I am a representative of The NOLA Tree and have made a commitment to The NOLA Tree. On
the basis of this commitment, I will participate fully and meaningfully in all aspects of the program.

I understand that a volunteer is a visitor, and as a result, I may be asked to modify lifestyles or habits so as not to
be offensive to local customs, cultures, and traditions. I will be sensitive to these local norms and take cues from
chaperones, fellow volunteers, and staff and volunteers of the groups and organizations with whom I will be interacting.

On workdays, I understand that I must be ready for work at the designated time. At job sites, I will use tools,
supplies and other resources responsibly. I will not use any tools or machinery or engage in any activity my parent or
guardian has not consented to. I will follow all safety guidelines, wear proper work attire, and use necessary safety
equipment.

I recognize that I will be staying at a facility that houses many other volunteers. I will obey the rules and
regulations of the facilities. I understand I will be expected to help maintain the facility. Each day, I will be expected to
help in the cleanup of the room in which I am staying, assist in trash removal, clean-up after meals, and help to maintain the
bathroom and shower facilities. I will also be assigned additional daily chores and duties that I will carry out.

I acknowledge The NOLA Tree has put in place rules strictly prohibiting specific behavior and conduct. These
include:

• Possession or use of alcohol, tobacco (under the age of 18) and/or drugs. Medications provided by a
physician and with a physician’s prescription are permitted.

• Sexual activity of any kind. Certain displays of affection may also be deemed to be inappropriate by a
chaperone. Instant compliance with the chaperone’s judgment will be expected.

• Sexual harassment or abuse in any form.

• Physical violence or fighting.

• Possession or use of a weapon of any kind.

• Leaving the group without permission of a chaperone.

• Violation of any established dress code.

• Violation of curfew.

• Use of foul language, vandalism, stealing or any other form of social indecency.

As a volunteer, I acknowledge that if I violate any of the above-mentioned polices, I will be asked to leave the
program at my own expense.

By signing this Code of Conduct Contract, I am agreeing to and understand all that has been stated above.
