A. Pre-Lecture
Students Activity
You are grade 11 students. I
presume that in your age you
are already know what is right
and what is wrong because I
am sure since you were
children; your parents have
done a very good job in
honing and developing your

right

With these, I would like to ask

you and recall: what have
your parents taught you about
moral values? Feel free to
raise your hands and share
your thoughts to the class
(Writes the answers on the
board)
B. Motivation
Very Good. These are good
examples of the good things
that your parents have taught
you right in your own home.
But there are times even
when our parents have done
their job, we dont follow and
respect what they taught us
and with this leads to some
children doing some very bad
things, most commonly done
at school.
I would like to show you this
power
point
presentation
(Operates
Laptop
and
presents
the
PowerPoint
presentation).
Please watch this short video
clip and reflect on the moral
values acted upon or showed
by the characters of the story.
(Shows a video clip about
bullying)
C. Developmental
Activities/Lecture

Sadly, this is a reality that

many
of
you
have
experienced. I myself when I
was of your age have
experienced
this
tough
challenge. Now, who are the
main characters of the story?
What moral acts does the boy
show in the first part of the
video clip?

Mano po, Tabi po, Excuse

me, Pardon me
(At least 3 pupils should have
shared their thoughts and
experiences to the class)

(They respond accordingly)

In the last part of the video

clip, what did the boy do?
This can happen to anyone of
you. Now, we have written
these characteristics on the
board and determined the
actions of the people involved.
With all that we have done, I
am proud to tell you that you
just have done a study of
Ethics!

I have a question, now that

you know the meaning of its
name; I would like to ask you,
it is a speculative science or
a practical science?
Very Good! It is a practical
science because it directly
implies rules or directions for
thought or action.
Arrogance, Neglect, Pride
He committed Suicide

Ethics is like a person, she

knows us but we dont know
her and I would like to
introduce you to Ethics!
Like a person, Ethics is her
name and this name has an
origin, do you agree?

Yes

Okay, with what we have

written on the board, these
characteristics show what?

Actions

Yes! It is acted upon! There

comes the meaning of the
word Ethics. Ethics came
from the Greek word Ethos

It is a practical science
because it shows action

Now, it is a practical science

which means that it is a
science full of practices, full of
actions. I will show you these
following pictures; you tell me
what moral act it shows.
(Shows
pictures
in
the
PowerPoint presentation)
We are capable of Loving and
Respect but we are not
perfect. All of the time we
commit
mistakes
and
Humanity is full of them. Like
these pictures show. (Shows
pictures in the PowerPoint
presentation)
All of these actions are issues
of what?
Very Good, All of these things
are issues of morality. Who is
to blame for these cruel
actions? Are the animals to
blame? Are the plants to
blame? Is God to Blame?
Yes, we are the one to blame!

We are the conductors of this

Life-Drama, we are human
conductors like conductors
who conduct music, we are
like
human
electrical
conductors connecting each of
ourselves with each other and
the world. Humans and their
conduct! Does that ring a
bell? These acts written in the
board are all what?

(Watches the presentation

and reacts accordingly)

(Watches the presentation

and reacts accordingly)

Morality
We are the ones to blame

Human Conduct

Yes. We achieve peace. But

many of us choose to be evil,
to be bad. What can happen if
we dont give importance to
Ethics?
Yes, like the one in the video
clip we have seen, anyone of
us can commit the same
thing.

Yes, Very Good! These are all

human conduct!
Now, we review everything.
Ethics is?
Yes, it is a practical science, it
is all about morals, and it is
performed by us as humans in
our human conduct.

When every one of us makes

our own Hell here on Earth,
What would happen? What is
the Ultimate Hell here on
Earth?
Yes. It is War and worst of all
when war happens, this
happens. (Shows video clip of
Nuclear Explosion)

It is a practical science, it is
all about morals, and it is
performed by us as humans in
our human conduct.

Ethics is the practical

science of the morality of
Human Conduct.

With all of these keywords,

can someone now tell me
what and who Ethics is?
Very Good! You are all very
intelligent!
Ethics
is
the
practical
science
of
the
morality of Human Conduct.
Now that we know Ethics, Is
she important to us? Is Ethics
important?
Yes! When all of us choose to
act as a good person, what do
we achieve?

Yes (Everyone can react and

explain why)
We achieve peace
(Answers may vary)

we see that it is important.

Now
that
we
see
its
importance, I would like to
thank you because you have
listened.
Your assignment is to write a
reflection paper about the
importance of Ethics in your
lives.
Class dismissed, see you
tomorrow
and
always
remember, think before you
act. Good luck.

The state of War

(Students watch the video

clip)

No, we will not wait for the

avengers, we will follow what
God has spoken to us in our
hearts

(Students do as asked)

Would you like this to happen

to all of us? Will we wait for
the Avengers to save all of us
from our monstrosity? Or we
will follow what He wants us
to do?
In the name of God, please
repeat these 3 times with me:
Ethics is important because it
brings
peace,
Ethics
is
important because it brings
peace, Ethics is important
because it brings peace.

(Takes
note
assignment)

We have done that because

we value things if we see its
significance in our lives, when
