E-Mail Version
Dear Tom:
I am writing because I want to go on record with this: I am concerned about the safety of
the forklifts in the warehouse.
These machines are more than 10 years old and should be replaced, both because they
are unreliable and because I believe them to be unsafe for anyone driving them.
Compared with newer forklifts, ours are easy to overbalance; those of us who have been
driving them for a while are used to their load limitations, but I am finding that our newer
employees, who are used to more modern equipment, are prone to overload the
machines. Although each new warehouse employees orientation includes training on
the forklifts, I think it is time we invested in some new technology.
I would be happy to pull together some recommendations and pricing for replacing the
existing equipment. Let me know if you would like that information.
In the meantime, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this matter.
Sincerely,
