Onabranch,aninsectcreepsintoviewandpausesbriefly.A
LIZARDappears,grabbingandeatingtheinsectbeforeithasa
chancetoescape.

Suddenly,theLIZARDdartsaway,spooked,asaHELICOPTERshoots
pastabove.

VICHOSKINS,about50,ruggedmilitarytype,looksoutatthe
junglebelowfromthefuselage,searching.Heturnsbackinto
thefuselageandpullsoutawalkietalkie.

aFRILLopens,wehearahissand

Alargeanimalrushesfromthebushes,tacklingMERCENARY1into
theundergrowthastheothersbegintofirehaphazardly.The
MERCENARY,knockedtotheground,looksuptoseetheanimal
rearupandSNARL.

Historchlightrevealstheanimalsscalyskincolouredgreen
andblack.Itsheadhastwoprominentcrestsanditsmouthis
linedwithsharpteeth.Theanimalflaresopenitsbrightly
colouredFRILL,readytoattack.

Suddenly,MERCENARY2emergesfromthebush,aiminghisweapon.
Theanimalhissesandrearsitshead

anditSPITS.

SPLAT!AbigblackglobofsomethingwetSMACKSintoMERCENARY
2.Heloseshisbalanceandfallsover.BeforeMERCENARY1can
scrambleforhisgun,theanimalturnstohimandpounces.We
hearscreams.

Gunfire,hissesandshrillanimalcriesbeguntoeruptfromthe
foliage.

staringdownintotheenclosurebelow.Heisscrawny,barelyin
his20s.Inonetremblinghand,heholdsablueBUCKET.Inthe
other,heholdsapieceofMEAT.TheHANDLERlooksupandnods
toCATRINAFOSTER,ananimalhandlerinherearly30s,standing
attheboundaryoftheboardwalk.

CATRINApressesabutton.Weseeameshedgateslideupas8
animalsrunintotheenclosure.Theanimalslookfamiliar
almostlikeRAPTORSinshapeandsizebutmissingthe6inch
sickleclawonthefeet.Theyhavescalygreenskinpatterned
withdarkrosettes.Theycirclebelowtheboardwalk,snappingat
eachother,eagertobefed.

HANDLER

Thepeopleinthecrowdtalkamongstthemselvesexcitedly.

TheHANDLERthrowsthepieceofMEATintotheenclosureasthe
animalsfightoverit.ThecrowdOOHsandAAHs.Hedrawsout
anotherpieceofMEATfromtheBUCKET,andcontinuestofeedthe
animals.CATRINAlooksoncritically.ItstheHANDLERsfirst
dayonthejobanditspainfullyclear.

TheHANDLERloseshisgriponapieceofMEAT,whichfallson
thescaffoldingbelowtheboardwalk.Theanimalsaresuddenly
agitated,graspingandclawingtogetatit.CATRINArushesin
withalongPOLEandunhookstheMEAT,lettingitfalltothe
hungrycarnivoresbelow.

thattheparkisheavingwithactivity.Finally,inthe
distance,wefindtheCOMMANDFACILITY,comprisedofdark,
loomingbuildings.

Asceneinwhichourstoryskids,11yearoldLoriand
15yearoldLogan,areexploringJurassicWorldhaving
lost/escapedfromtheirminderearlierintheday.

wallsofamarinetank.Insidethetankswimsmall,longnecked
PLESIOSAURS.Wefollowtheanimalsupwardsastheybreachthe
surfacetofindacrowdgatheredaroundaHANDLERthrowingfish
fromabucketintothewater.Wecontinuetotrackupwardsto
seeLORIandLOGANrunningupstairsbeforereachingawalkway
borderingahuge40ftglasswallthatseparatesthekidsinthe
underwaterobservatoryfromtheLAGOON.LOGANstopsashe
reachesthetop,pausingtocatchhisbreathbeforecontinuing
alongthewalkwaytostopalongsideLORI,whoalreadyhasher
faceandbodypressedupagainsttheglass.

Allwecanseeareafewscatteredfishswimmingintheblue
expansebeyondtheglass.

LOGANandLORIcontinuedowntheriverintheirkayakandturna
bendtosee

Ahugewallofthickglassstretching20metersacross!Itcuts
throughalargepoolofwateradjacenttotheriver,stretching
toawallofconcreteoneitherside.Wehearthedullbuzzof
anelectricfenceandseepulsingredlightssetintoupperrim
oftheconcretewall.Throughtheglass,weseedensevegetation
andafewtalltreessurroundinganetworkofdark,greenpools.

LOGANstopspaddling,allowingthekayaktofloatontheslow
currentoftheriver,asthekidscraneforabetterlook.

LORI
(pointing)
Look!

Onthebankoftheswamp,hiddenintheshadeofatree,wesee
theheadofanenormous,sleepingCROCODILE.Itsjawsarewide
open,showingusasetofstraight,conicalteeth.Fromwhatwe
cansee,itsbodyappearsunusuallytallandwide,heavingwith
eachbreath.

Suddenly,theanimalseyesopenandwehearalow,clearGROWL.
Theanimalbeginstoriseand,asitunfoldsitsbodyfromits
restingposition,weseethatitisntaCROCODILEatall.It
nowstands3meterstall,revealingitslonglegsandpowerful
arms,withanoversized,curvedCLAWoneachhand.Lettingout
anotherlongGROWL,theanimal,aBARYONYX,movesintothe
water,barelymakingasplash.

Itstridesswiftlythroughthepooltowardstheriver,making
smallwavesasitgathermomentum.Theanimalisnow10meters
away5meters!LORIpanicsandbeginstopaddle.

Itscomingrightforus!

Buttheanimalstopsshortoftheglass.Itmovesslightly,
findingitsfootinginthewater,beforeanglingitshead
straightdowntowardsthewater.Itseemstobestaringdeeply
intoitsreflectioninthepool.

LOGANandLORIwatch,withoutasound.Then

SPLOOSH!Theanimalheadslungesandwithintheblinkofaneye

reemergeswithalargeFISHinitsjaws.TheFISHstrugglesfor
amoment,beforetheBARYONYXgutsitwithitslargehandCLAW
andslowlyturnsbacktowardsthebank.

Thekayakrollsgentlypasttheendoftheglassbarrier,asthe
kidssitspeechlessandinshock.

northoftheisland.

standingametertall,andcolouredadeepredwithanorange
head.Ithasalong,flexibleneckandathin,pointedsnout.It
lookscuriouslyatthehumansforamoment.Then,opensitsjaws
torevealasetofsmall,sharpteeth.

LOGANwhipsaroundasweturntoseeasecondanimal,slightly
palerincolour.InitsmouthisalargeDEADRAT.LOGANgrabs
LORIbythearmandpullshertotheside,asthefirstanimal
cranesforwardtogreetitsmate.Thesecondanimaldropsthe
DEADRATandthetwobegintotearintoit.
