This retreat is especially for Janome & Elna Embroidery Machine Owners! This retreat is a consumer development show, open to quilters,
sewers, embroiderers and those who want to become educators. The sessions feature talented educators, software designers and authors who
are well-known in the sewing industry. These instructors will be sharing techniques and personal tips while participants work on projects
designed to help them use their machines to their fullest potential.

fun and excitement the customers have when they attended Ray’s Sew Retreat, which convinced them to join us in the fun this
year. Ray’s is known for their spectacular sewing retreat throughout the country; we have people coming from : Chicago,
New York, New Orleans, Canada, Australia . . . and more.

Mary Jo has developed and successfully taught serger sewing classes for the past twenty-one years. In her
hands on classes, she has worked with all makes and models of sergers. She has put together a series of
serger instructional DVDs to share her knowledge with home sewers everywhere. Her step-by-step
instructions can be followed by the novice sewer and/or the accomplished seamstress. Great close ups in
all of her DVDs make for private lessons in your own home!
GAY GERLACK

Owner of Sewabration. She has a line of patterns and booklets, and is available to teach at educational
seminars. She is a member of the American Sewing Guild and the Sewing Educators Alliance. Gay has
taught for the Original Creative Festivals, International Quilt Festival, the Sewing and Stitchery Expo, the
International Embroidery Conference, the Creative Embroidery Conference, the Machine Enthusiasts
Embroidery Conference, the Janome Sew Easy Retreat, the Sparkle Cruise, the Sew, Quilt and Embroidery
Festivals, the Valley Stitcher’s Guild, and at a variety of sewing centers.
Gay’s designs have been featured in Threads Magazine, Sew Stylish Magazine, Designs in Machine
Embroidery, and The Embroidery Journal. She has also written articles for Pattern Review. The classes and

VALORA HAMMOND

Valora is an educator for Janome America. Her love of sewing began as a child and along the way, she’s
worked in a fabric store and made costumes for state shows. She has been doing custom sewing since she
was in high school, expanding to creating garments for contests, stage and special occasions. She
graduated from Colorado State University with a major in secondary teaching and a minor in apparel
production. She loves to teach Janome customers all the things their machines can do for them.
CINDY LOSEKAMP

Is a fun and enlightening teacher known for her incredible amount of samples and ingenious way of
creating. She has written numerous books and patterns and created many beautiful embroidery design
CD's. Cindy has been creating her entire life. She started learning at her Grandmother’s knee and then
continued at singer sewing classes and in 4-H. Cindy also is known for her ultra creative ideas and
methods for using embroidery machines and the decorative stitches that most people never use. Cindy has
been a guest on many of the popular TV shows and she has traveled extensively. Her love of sewing,
crocheting, embroidering and painting is the driving force behind her company, Sew Artfully Yours.

Jacki has been sewing for 16 years. She loves quilting, home decorator projects, wearable art and sewing for her
grandchildren. She is active with the American Sewing Guild, Placerville Gold Country Chapter. Jacki’s goal for
her students is that they leave each class with a sense of joy knowing that they have successfully completed their
projects.

Technical support manager for Buzz Tools. She can be found at many embroidery shows and class rooms. Lisa
has been with Buzz Tools from the early days and is also deeply involved in the development of all new programs
and features as she really knows what the embroidery community needs and wants.
Make a mask all in the hoop so bring your imagination and some metallic thread, feathers, beads,
buttons, etc. to embellish your mask. You will open the design and add ―stuff‖ to it. We will use
software designs to edit by tearing them apart, resizing or reshaping them. Create in the morning
– stitch and decorate in the afternoon.

an auxiliary mouse (not wireless!)
