Introduction
In general, open source refers to any program whose source code is made available for
users or developers to see fit and modify. Open source code is typically created as a
collaborative effort which programmers improve upon the code and share the changes within the
community. Hence, open source software is a software for which the underlying programming
code is available to the users so that they may read it, make changes to it and build new versions
of the incorporating their changes.

mediate access between physical devices such as keyboards, mouse or disk drive and application
program such as word processing, spreadsheet and presentation where the source code is
available under a copyright license that permits users to study, change, and improve the software
and to re-distribute it in modified form. It is the most prominent example of open source
development. There are many open source OS in the market.
Puppy Linux operating system is a lightweight Linux distribution that focuses on ease of use[3]
and minimal memory footprint. The entire system can be run from RAM with current versions
generally taking up about 210 MB,[4] allowing the boot medium to be removed after the operating
system has started. Applications such as Byword (word processing), Numeric (spreadsheets) and
Players (multimedia player) are included, along with a choice of lightweight web browsers. The
distribution was originally developed by Barry Mauler and other members of the community.
The tool Woof can build a Puppy Linux distribution from the binary packages of other Linux
distributions.[5]
Kauler retired from Puppy development in 2013.[2]

The app is available on Android, I Phone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Simian phones, and
there are also Web-based, OS X[11] and Windows[12] clients but these require the user to have the
app installed on a supported mobile phone for authentication and neither message roaming nor
'Moments' is provided.[13] As of August 2014, We Chat has 438 million active users; with 70
million outside of China.[14]
We Chat provides text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, broadcast (one-to-many)
messaging, sharing of photographs and videos, and location sharing. It can exchange contacts
with people nearby via Bluetooth, as well as providing various features for random if desired (if
these are open to it) and integration with social networking services such as those run by Face
book and Ten cent QQ.[15] Photographs may also be embellished with filters and captions, and a
machine translation service is available

information and communication technology everywhere, for everyone at all times. The centre
for pervasive computing is to the development of new concepts, technologies, products and
services, innovative interaction between universities and companies a strong future basis for
educating IT specialists. Other terms for pervasive computing are Ubiquitous Computing, Calm
Technology and Things that Think.
Smart TV, which is also sometimes referred to as "Connected TV" or "Hybrid TV", (not
to be confused with Internet TV, Web TV, or LG Electronics upcoming "SMART
TV" branded Net Cast Entertainment Access devices), is the phrase used to describe the
current trend of integration of the internet and Web 2.0 features into modern television
sets and set-top boxes, as well as the technological convergence between computers and
these television sets /set-top boxes. These new devices most often also have a much
higher focus on online interactive media, Internet TV, over-the-top content, as well as ondemand streaming
Conclusion
The advantage of open source software is that fact that it is open source. Meaning users
have the source code to modify at their whim. This gives flexibility in fixing bugs or adding
features as they see it. The latest development in hardware makes our life more efficient and
comfortable. The pervasive computing is technology that gracefully integrated in our everyday
life. The user is no longer aware of this embedded technology.
