Question #7:
Google has decided to develop an application to judge the performance of its employees and to give
feedback about their progress. This application will be used by the managers. Before starting
development, a survey is conducted to gather the user characteristics. The summary of user profiling is
illustrated below.
Among managers, attitude and motivation towards computers is generally high, as 82% perceive
computer to be important to their jobs. Educational level is also very high, with 96% having at least
university level degree and they do not find any difficulty in reading long texts but managers are quite
busy whole day and cannot write and read large evaluation summaries of employees. Job and task
experiences are moderately high with 54% possessing 11 years experience. They have moderate level
of training support for the new systems; training is typically 3 hours or even less in duration. Majority
managers have fairly high typing speed.
A majority of these users are male and almost 70% have vision deficit and wear corrective lenses.
