Singapore, 15 July 2016 Enterprise 50 Association (E50A), which gathers more than 200 prominent past winners of the E50 business award to promote social interaction and a spirit of unity, announced today that Ms Susan Chong, a 2014 winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards, has been named its first female President. Ms. Chong, the CEO of Greenpac (S) Pte Ltd (Greenpac) which designs, develops and reengineers environmentally packaging solutions takes over from outgoing E50A President Mr. Andy Lim, who is stepping down ahead of the expiry of his second four-year term in 2017. Mr. Lim is Chairman of SGX-listed Viking Offshore & Marine Ltd. Ms. Chong spearheaded Greenpacs transformation from a one-woman startup in 2002 to an international award-winning, multi-million dollar enterprise whose clients include several global corporations. Mr. Lim said, I am stepping down one year ahead of the end of my second term to facilitate the leadership transition to Susan. With her leadership qualities and outstanding track record of entrepreneurship, I am confident that she will inspire like-minded entrepreneurs who are willing to contribute to social change. Ms. Chong said: It is a privilege to lead an unique association such as E50A, which seeks to promote social good and unity among business leaders. I want to thank Andy for his exemplary leadership, past contributions and for facilitating a smooth transition to a younger group of E50 leaders. I am honoured to take over as President and hope to build on his remarkable achievements. As E50A President, my focus will be to develop the capabilities of business leaders and to encourage members to collaborate on more overseas opportunities, especially amidst the current economic uncertainty. I would like to encourage business leaders, especially women, to show leadership in roles such as startup mentorship, she said. Ms. Chong will lead the Associations 16-person management committee, which was established in 1999 for past winners of the annual E50 Awards. To date, the association has 236 members who are past winners of the Award. Launched in 1995, the E50 Awards seeks to identify, support, recognise and reward local privatelyowned companies across all sectors.
