SERBIAN LANGUAGE, LEVEL 1 (A1)

Short course annotation


This course for beginners is based on communicative language teaching
methodology and has the following purposes: to present the basic level of
the Serbian conversational language; to exercise practical Serbian language
on the basic level; to present phonetical and phonological system of the
Serbian language. The students will acquire the basics of conversational
Serbian, will be able to read simple texts and use language in everyday
communication. It also introduces the students to the main features of the
phonetic and phonological system of the Serbian language. After completing
the course the students will be able to understand conversational Serbian
language, communicate on everyday topics, describe themselves and their
environment and write a semi-formal letter

Distribution of workload for students (contact and independent work in hours)


Lectures and seminars 90 academic hours (60 contact hours and 30 hours in the virtual teaching environment).
Independent work 70 academic hours. In total 160 academic hours.

Structure of cumulative score and value of its constituent parts


Midterm exam - 20 %, final exam - 30%, other oral and written work during the semester - 50 % of the final mark.

SERBIAN LANGUAGE, LEVEL 2 (A2)


Short course annotation
This course presents a follow-up programme of the previous elementary level
Serbian course and helps the learners develop their Serbian language
competence at pre-intermediate level (A2). Based on communicative
methodology and a skill-oriented approach, the course aims to present the
learners with the Serbian language system, improving phonological,
orthographical, grammatical and lexical competencies and developing speaking,
listening, writing and reading skills of the relevant level. The form of studies
includes lectures, seminars, self-study tasks and work in SANAKO lab and in
virtual MOODLE environment (on-line work, synchronous and asynchronous
conversations and discussion forums, interactive tests and exercises).
