Late Work Policy:
If a student is absent, according to the district policy, they will have the number of days that they are absent
plus one additional day.
Outside of absences, if a student does not turn in an assignment on time, he or she will have a 10% deduction
per school day for up to three days. After three days, the maximum grade a student can receive is a 70%.
Materials:
Students will be required to bring the following to class each day:
Two Pencils
Loose Leaf Paper
Yellow Folder with Language Arts handouts
Yellow Notebook - Used only for language arts
Student selected reading book
Agenda/Data Book
Students are required to bring their materials to class each day, no exceptions.
Textbooks may be borrowed with teacher permission and must be signed out.
Classroom Library:
I want students to read everything that they can. Students are permitted to check out books from my
classroom library. Many books in my library have been donated over the years from previous students or
retiring teachers. I have a range of books in order to serve a variety of students and match books to
everyones needs, interests and ability levels. Some titles are geared towards a young adult audience. If at
any time you have a concern about your students book selection, please contact me and we can find an
alternate reading choice.
Parent/Guardian Communication:
I will communicate to families as needed by email. Please check your students agenda and data book weekly.
If you ever feel the need to check on your students progress or to ask a question, please do not hesitate to
email or call me using the contact information above. Please also have your student take responsibility for
their education by asking questions about their progress or asking for help on their assignments.
Students will also receive a grade report at the end of each six week term. There will also be a progress report
sent home after three weeks of each term have been completed.
Please sign the page and have your child return it to Mrs. Fiaschetti by
Wednesday, August 17, 2016, so we know that you have received the
information on the Seventh Grade Language Arts Syllabus.
I have read and understand Mrs. Fiaschettis language arts syllabus. I agree to abide by the
