DAILY LESSON PLAN OF M8AL-Ih-2

Grade / Level 8
School
Learning Area MATHEMATICS
Teacher
Teaching Dates and Times Quarter 2

I.OBJECTIVES Objectives must be me over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives; necessary procedures must be allowed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises
and remedial activities may done for developing content and knowledge and competencies.
These are assessed using Formative Assessment strategies Valuing objectives support the
learning of content and competencies and enable children to find the significance and joy in
learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of graphing a system of
linear equations in two variables.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to solve and graph problems involving system of linear equations in
two variables.
C. Learning Competencies / Learning Competency: graphs a system of linear equations in two variables.
Objectives Write the LC Code for ( M8AL-Ih-2)
each Learning Objectives:
1. Recall the definition of the system of linear equation.
2. Graph the system of linear equations.
3. Demonstrate appreciation of the different graphical formed of the system of
linear equations in two variables.
Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach in the CG , the
content can be tackled in a week or two
II. CONTENT
Graphs Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables
III. LEARNING RESOURCES Teacher’s Guide; Learner’s Module

A. References
1.Teacher’s Guide Pages Pages 301-302
2.Teacher’s Materials pages
3. Textbook pages Pages 270-273
4. Additional Materials From
Learning Resources (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources Internet sources:

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that the
IV. PROCEDURES students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which
you can infer formation assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning question their learning
processes , and draw conclusion about what they learned in relation to their experiences and
previous knowledge indicate the time allotment for each step
A. Reviewing previous The teacher asks the students:
lesson or presenting the 1. What was our topic last meeting?
new lesson 2. What is the definition of the system of linear equation?
3. What are the possible graph of the system?
B. Establishing a purpose for the The teacher assesses student’s knowledge on how to graph systems of linear
lesson equations in two variables. The teacher lets the students read and understand some
important notes on solving systems of linear equations.
C. Presenting examples The teacher will call a student to graph the equations given on the board.
/instances of the new lesson Directions: Graph the given equation using only one Cartesian plane.
1. x + 2y = 8 2. 2x – 3y = 2
Possible graph : intersecting
D. Discussing new concepts and After the learners board work, the teacher will ask additional questions like:
practicing new skills # 1 Questions:
1. What are the slopes of the equations given?
2. What are the y-intercepts?
3. What can you say about the graph formed?
E. Discussing new concepts and The teacher discusses with the students the process of graphing the system of linear
practicing new #2 equations in two variables. Furthermore, the teacher will let the students look for a
partner and do the activity below.
Try this! Graph y = x +7 and y = -2x + 1 in one Cartesian plane and tell whether the lines
are parallel, intersecting or coinciding.
F. Developing mastery With the same pair, the learners will do another activity.
( Leads to Formative Assessment 3) Directions: Solve the system of equations by graphing. State whether the lines are
parallel, intersecting or coinciding.
1. 3x + 2y = -6 parallel
3x + 2y = -12
2. X + 2y = -4 intersecting
2x - y = 7
G. Finding practical application of
concepts and skills in daily living
H. Making generalization and The teacher summarizes the mathematical skills and principles used to graph the
abstractions about the lesson systems of linear equations by asking the following questions:
1. Give the step-by-step process on how to graph the systems of linear
equations?
2. What are the different lines formed in graphing systems of linear equations?
I. Evaluating learning The teacher will give the formative test.
Directions: Solve each system of linear equations by graphing. State whether the lines
are parallel, intersecting or coinciding.

1. x + y = -3 2. x + y = 2
x – y = -1 y=x-4

J. Additional activities for

application or remediation
V. REMARKS
Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as teacher. Think about the student’s progress this
VI. REFLECTIONS week. What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn?
A. No. of learners who earned 80 % in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who required additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80 %
c. Did the remedial lesson work ? No. of
learners who have caught up the lesson
D. No. pf learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did theses work?
F.What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve
G. What innovation or localized materilas did I
use / discover which I wish to share with
other teachers?
