Our teacher told us to go to some places here within Manila to be able to complete our
requirements to him. Those places that we went were have connections to our national hero,
Jose Rizal. So, we went a tour for those places namely old UST, old Ateneo, the fort that were
inside the Intramuros, the Binondo church, and as well as the Paco Cementery were Rizal
buried.
It was on our engineering week when we decided to went to the places where our
professor told us. Its February 16 th when we went to Intramuros first. We rode a jeepney that
going to Quipo. When we reached Quiapo we rode Pier 7 where the Intramuros was located.
Its first time for some of us so we were quite excited to go there. For some minutes, we finally
arrived at Intramuros. The place was so old that it looks like it was left by the own city. The
banks, restaurants, and etc. were in its old style. Were amaze because the place was so
relaxing. We entered at the fort Santiago but before we entered we must bought a ticket that
cost 50 pesos. From the very moment we entered the fort, we were fascinated by the
surroundings there. It brings nostalgia from the place that brings us memory on what
happened before. Every place there were full of memories even at when we entered the
museum. After that, we went for a walk and we went to old UST and old Ateneo. Its very far
from our expectations that we thought it was an old school but when we saw it, it just an old
monument that has a label on it. We didnt able to finished all the places so we decided to
called it a day.
On the next week, we went to Binondo church. We thought that it was so far to what we
have thought. We rode a jeep going to Divisoria and we walked until we reach the Binondo
church. We went inside the chapel and pray. The design inside the church were so very
beautiful that it caught our attention. After that, we look for some restaurant that were new to
us, some Chinese food that we were craving for and we go for ramen. After we ate, we went to
Paco manila to go at Paco cemetery. But unfortunately, it was closed so we took pictures at
the outside only.
On that trip, our knowledge was increased by the information that we knew in the
places that we been. We learned not only the lectures that we learned from school but we also
learned outside the four corners.
