132kv,1200sqmm UNDER GROUND CABLE WORKS

After getting LOA copy

We have to analyses the work scope and to see is there any existing cables to be used for our
proposed cable networks, if it is so we have to make a list of existing cable networks
Make a Request to Client to provide list of drawings for existing GRP (general route plan) &
Schematic diagram.
Collect the proposed Route plan from client to start survey
With reference to proposed plan prepare GRP drawing by showing all the existing services
While designing Route plan for cables as per SECO standards we have to keep in mind that every 3
consecutive sections should be same for full cross bonding system.
All the section lengths should not be more then 450M
First and last 3 minor section should not be max of 360Mts
After completion of preparing GRP submit to client for review and approval
After getting GRP approval, prepare a BOQ n You can raise PO to Cables and its materials reqd
Give a GRP copy to stamping and to coordination dept. to prepare certificates and to get signed by
Client and seal
Prepare a schematic Diagram with approved GRP and existing schematic(If existing cable was
present)
After approval of GRP u need to start FO route plan and submit to concerned departments for
approval.
Prior to starting of work u have to take all coordinations from the concerned dept. like
telecom, Traffic police, sea wage, storm water, municipality etc.
We have to mobilize all the safety barricades, safety sign boards and safety mesh and 25Kva DG for
lighting along the excavated area in night times(3cx2.5sqmm PVC cable and 15watt lamps with holders)
We have to Mark with the help of line door to start asphalt cutting ,start cutting the asphalt with
asphalt Cutting machine , NOL reqd 1 person
After marking will start first a trail pit to confirm the non-availability of existing services and will start
trench excavation (1.7mtr depth and 1mtr width)
After completion of excavation and joint box then we have to raise RFI and to be cleared
Once RFI was passed then we have to go for 100mm red sand bedding
After red sand bedding we have to arrange cable rollers for every 2mts, cable pulling machine and to
shift the cable drums to one end of trench and the other end to cable pulling machine and also provide a
back stay of both pulling machine and cable drums while pulling
While cable pulling RFI has to be inspected by SECO and after completion of cable pulling , we have to
lay 100mm UPVC pipe fitting of 2layers for FO cable (48 fibers)
Once after laying the 100mm dia UPVC pipes with inside 10mm Nylon ropes , then we have to backfill
the red sand @ 700mm then water curing to be done
After that we have to start Reinforced protection tiles laying Red color for 132kv and Green color for FO
cable
Raise RFI call to seco for tiles laying once it was cleared then we have to go for 100mm sand backfill
and lay the metal mesh up on it
Raise RFI call to seco for inspection of Metal mesh and After the inspection for metal mesh from SECO
we have to start sub base laying @200mm and compaction with mini roller after completion of
compaction
we have to raise RFI for compaction from SECO and Baldiya 3rd party agency
If the compaction was passed then we have to lay warning tape
And we have to start if first layer sub base has cleared inspection and have to start 2nd layer 200mm n
compaction
After clearing Inspection from Baldiya consultant if it is passed then we have to lay MC1 (medium
curing), RC2(Rapid curing 2) on edges of existing asphalt edge and to take inspection from Baldly
consultant
Asphalt to be layer and compaction in 2layers and to get cleared Inspection from Baldly consultant.
Install Man holes for Link boxes and FO cable
From FO cable man hole we have to pull 4 nos of 32mm Dia UPVC ducts with the help of 10mm Nylon
rope which is already kept in 100mm UPVC dia pipe
Make sure that in all the 32mm Dia UPVC sleeves keep 4mm Nylon rope to pull the FO cable
For Joint Bay
For Joint Bay construction Before starting need to take exact marking of JB location with the help of
Land surveyor
JB dimensions are width-2.4mtr and length 6mts
While excavation for JB we have to make sure of the Link Box location and availability of civil materials
and manpower ie Mansion and materials like spirit level, Cement bags(5 nos/joint bay), White sand and
Hallow bricks(190pcs/Jb)
after completion of excavation and Land leveling inside the excavated box , prepare a Boundary with
line door and start building the JB box walls( pcc will be done after completion of walls cons to reduce
time n cost of wall shuttering if PCC to be done prior to walls)
After completion of walls prepare PCC of 100mm level
After completion of Jb we need to ask jointing team to come and start their work (only when both sides
of the cable was ready to joint)
After completion of Joint then we have to install f nos of Cu rod of Dia 19mm and 3M long on corners of
Jb
And make a ring circuit with Cu rods and 240sqmm Bare conductor and take one tapping ECC cable to
Link box for earthing of Lb
After that close the JB with red sand and followed by tiles, sub base , warning tape and asphalt with
compaction
For cable road crossing/HDD
Whenever there is Road crossing of cables we have to keep in mind to allow the cables in 200mm UPVC
dia sleeves in concrete casing for roads less than 30mts width for above 30mts we have to go for HDD
For small roads ie less than 30Mts first you need to open the road where the cable needs to be passed
For road crossing trench will be a depth of 2mts
And keep 200mm upvc dia in excavated trench 3 nos for power cable and 100mm upvc sleeves for FO
cable 2 nos filled with 10mm nylon rope for cable pulling
After fitting the sleeves with pulling rope and arrange wooden shutter to prepare borders for concrete
casing (up to that road crossing)
Backfill with concrete for a level of 400mm from the bottom
After completion of concrete and curing for 2 days remove the shutter and backfill the sand followed by
sub base, warning tape and asphalt n compaction
For road crossings above 30mts width we have to choose for HDD (horizontal directional drilling)
For HDD where to be used we have to take separate permission and need t be know the depth reqd for
HDD
HDD machine will come an do the drilling and provide 200mm upvc dia sleeves for power cable passing
keep 10mm dia nylon rope and 100mm upvc dia sleeve inside 10mm dia nylon rope for fo cable pulling
