Recycled Paper

Objectives:
To create a paper that is productive and can be use in scrapbook ideas
To teach learners the value of recycling; and to help our community to lessen
waste.

Materials:
Plastic window screen
Picture Frame
Acrylic Paint(optional)
Blender
Glass of Water
Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach)
Cloth Iron
Pan
Decorations
Cloth/sponge

Procedure:
1. Tear the paper into small pieces and put into a blender with warm water.
Blend until the mixture becomes a fairly smooth pulp.
2. Add the Sodium Hypochlorite to lessen the intensity of color and give a
lightly colored pulp.
3. Put the Acrylic paint any color you want to add design to your
paper(optional).
4. Assemble your mold; attach your screen to your frame using duck tape,
staples or any other method that will keep the screen affixed to the frames edges.
5. Pour the pulp into your bin or pan, then sink the mold into the water
mixture. Pull the mold up, and pulp should cover the screen. At this point, you
can add decorations.Be sure to add a little more pulp to cover the decorations so
they adhere to the paper.
6. Use a cloth or sponge to press out excess water. Now you need to let the
paper dry. You can let it dry on the screen, you can flip the mold over and let
your paper dry on another surface, or you can press a cloth into the mold so the
paper adheres to it and can dry on the cloth. Any of these options should work.
Just be sure to let your paper dry for a day or so.
7. Iron the dry paper to remove the remaining water on the paper.

Conclusion:
Making recycled paper arent easy but making this little things would help
our community to lessen the waste they produce. It would give our Mother Earth
a clean and green place like it use to be. Lastly even though it is hard, this can
give our child and next generations a unpolluted surroundings that they could live
and grow.

Recommendations:
Difficult but worth it. If you would think that even in this simple thing you
can help our place to be clean. You need much more effort than you think and a
lot more time to prepared so that you wouldn't rush if anything would not meet
your expectations.
