B. Discussion

Teacher Pupils

Good morning class

Goodmorning maam

Our topic for today is Measuring length and height

using Nonstandard Measures
so the common unit
measurement of heights are centimeter and inches,
and we use the adjective tall ,big, long. For height
and wide for width

for example 6 feet tall if we are measuring the tall

of a person right?
Yes maam!
So now here , I have a pencil and I want to find out and compare
how long it would be from the other pencil.

can you tell me what tools can I use to measure

this pencil?
Maam!
Yes.rubelle
Maam we can measure the pencil
by using or means of ruler or tape measure
Yes, very Good we can measure the length of a
pencil by using the tape measure or a ruler1

but what if I dont have the tool to measure this

pencil can I still find out its measurement? ----
ok so lets find out how!

so I have here a clip and this clip is 2 inches long

this is not a measuring tool right?
but I can use it to measure this pencil

let us count the number of clips on this pencil

1.2345!
So it has five clips we can say that this pencil
is 10 inches long because the equivalent of one clip
is 2 inches long or 2 unit long!

we can also use our finger or crayons as long as it has

a consistent size

we can also measure it in unit like this

let us determined how long the pencil is by counting the blocks

Everybody!
12..345678!
so it has a 8 blocks long
