Welcome
Everyone on staff for this years FLRunners Invitational is ready to make it the best meet of
the season. Moving the race to Holloway Park in Lakeland was a very exciting change, and
we hope everyone that comes out recognizes the uniqueness and great fit it will provide for
everybody involved. Our goal is to make this a fun and entertaining weekend for all, while
creating a positive and competitive atmosphere for the athletes. This meet has a great
history and everyone on staff is looking forward to what its 18th year will bring.

OUR CELEBRITY GUEST RUNNER

Johnny Gregorek
Asics athlete, Johnny Gregorek, will be joining the festivities at Holloway Park for
FLR18. He will be signing autographs and interacting with the athletes both days
of the meet. Gregorek was a high school stand-out in Massachusetts before
moving on to Columbia University and finishing his final collegiate season at the
University of Oregon. In 2015, he broke the sub-four-minute barrier, joining his
dad who qualified for the 1980 and 1984 Olympics as one of a handful of father
son duos to accomplish that feat.

Gregorek used a thrilling finish to move from 10th to third in the 1,500m at the
USA Championships to earn his spot on Team USA. At the recent World
Championships in London, he was the highest-placing American in the 1,500,
coming in 10th in a time of 3:37.56.
