HPI Fuel SN (JPN)
1. Since engine oil is used to lubricate the fuel injection nozzle of this engine,
return fuel may be blacked. This is not an abnormality. Please explain this fact to
your customers using this notice.
2. For blacking of fuel, see the attached material for the detail.
The fuel injection system of this engine feeds a small amount of oil from the engine
to fuel to lubricate the injector plunger so that this can prevent the plunger from
being seized and protect it from other troubles due to high increase of fuel injection
pressure and that this can improve the reliability and durability. Therefore, fuel
passed through the injector partly returns to the fuel tank, and this oil blackens fuel
in the fuel tank sometimes. This means that the engine is not out of order at all.
Please explain accordingly to your customers.

Fuel passed though the injector partly returns to the fuel tank,
Plunger
and a bit amount of oil mixes in fuel in the fuel tank. This oil
blackens fuel in the fuel tank sometimes. But this is none of
abnormality.
Entering oil in the fuel does not influence the engine performance at all and does
not shorten the service life of the fuel filter.
The oil consumption in the injection system is less than 0.015% of the fuel
injection.
Fuel color changes depending on fuel level in the tank, applicable fuel and oil, and it is
difficult to judge the amount of oil mixed and existence of abnormality from fuel color.
