Clinical Practice:
v Completed 7 weeks of pediatric training within acute and intensive care, neonatal, weight management and
endocrinology, developmental, NICU follow-up, Ketogenic, cystic fibrosis, and inborn errors of metabolism.
v Fulfilled specializations in pediatric weight management, endocrinology, and NICU follow-up clinic,
creating educational tools for nutritional management of polycystic ovary syndrome in young women.
v Completed 7 weeks of specialized training with the UVA Nutrition Support team, transitional care hospital,
and rehabilitation facilities, managing parenteral and enteral nutrition for a diverse adult population.
v Facilitated over 40 counseling sessions, practicing motivational interviewing and family-based therapy.
v Completed specialized training at Shriners Hospital for Children (Boston, MA) in acute and clinic settings
for patients with complex burns, toxic epidermal necrolysis (TENS), cleft lip and palate, and spinal defects.
Special Projects & Experiences:
v Delivered an hour-long lecture, “Integrative and Functional Medicine: Finding Your Footing as an RD.”
v Refined counseling skills in a four-week workshop, which introduced Emotional Brain Training (EBT).
Clinical Research: Accuracy of Malnutrition Documentation in the Hospitalized Adult
v Analyzed discharge data and medical records retrospectively among select populations to investigate
accuracy of malnutrition documentation and coding, calculating both captured and missed reimbursement.
v Presented results at poster sessions for the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Annual Meeting
(Apr 2016), Massachusetts Dietetic Association’s Convention & Exposition (Apr 2016), and Food &
Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) in Boston, MA (Oct 2016).
