1. Introduction

This document is intended to give relevant information on the system features, available
equipment, typical configurations, simplified wiring and technical data for the concept.

2. General Description
The HSB02 is an analogue heavy duty multipurpose telephone unit. Designed for outdoor use
and in noisy areas,. and must be used together with a headset and parallel alarm bell.
With a built-in relay circuit the unit can activate external alarm devices or alarm systems.
Features:
• Bulkhead mounting.
• IP-Rating IP-66.
• WP socket for headset.
• DTMF dialling.
• Prepared for extra pre amplifier HSB-AMP
• Built-in relay circuit for operation of external signalling devices or alarm systems.
• Screw terminals and 4x PG-13 glands
3. Installation Instruction
For proper installation and operation of the HSB02 unit we recommend reading this section
thoroughly together with connection / configuration drawing, doc.no.HSB02_cc rev.00
Make sure that all mounting and cabling are correct before use
The HSB02 unit is for bulkhead mounting only. Use 4x 4 mm screws. See datasheet for further
information
It is equipped with plug able screw terminals for cables max.2,5mm2
All signal cables have to be approved ship-cables with twisted pair min. 2 x 0,5mm2 and outer
screen
Power cable for signal units have to be approved ship cable min. 2 x 1,5mm2

(light in “HEADSET ON” is switch off)

5. Specifications
DC specifications
The telephone-device is unipolar and thus independent of the polarity of the line terminals (a,b)
Isolation between line terminals in hook condition: R > 100Mohm. Vin< 250V
Allowed voltage across the line terminals in hook-off condition: 24-56V in series with 220ohm
AC specifications
Impedance to ground: IRI > 1Mohm, F = 55Hz (hook-off)
Input impedance in on-hook condition, 25Hz – 50Hz, 45 –110Veff IzI > 7Kohm
Electric strength from line terminals to all user.accessible parts: V > 2000V / 50Hz.
Ring detection
In hook-on condition, the acoustic transducer can be activated by an AC-voltage.
Vring: 45V eff < Vring <110Veff: 25Hz-50Hz.
Dialling
DTMF-dialling according to CCITT standards
Transmit level: -11dBm +- 2dB, 600ohm, a0
