SOP for Housekeeping

I. PURPOSE
To define a Standard Operating Procedure for the approval of housekeeping vendor

II. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for cleaning and hygiene maintenance at the facility

III. RESPONSIBILITY
Facility department is responsible to identify the vendor.
Facility department is responsible to audit and qualify the vendor.
Facility department is responsible to periodic review and renewal of services.

IV. ACCOUNTABILITY
Head-Admin

V. PROCEDURE (Housekeeping Responsibilities)

1.0 Cleaning front office / lobby area:


 Daily moping and sweeping of lobby.
 Buff the lobby once in a day also the dustbins are cleared time to time.
 Sweep lobby floor on a regular interval and also when requested by the front office
team.
 Clean all marble / tile /wood skirting regularly.
 Regular cleaning of outside floor and tiles
*Office lobby should be clean before 9am each day. All lobby and front office areas like flooring,
ceiling, furniture, glass doors, glass windows, fixtures etc. should be clean at any given time.
2.0 Clear all trash bins:
 Remove garbage from dustbins and clean them if required.
 Replace the cleared dustbins to the original spot.
 If any trash found on the lobby area then pick them up immediately.

3.0 Clean, disinfect workstations, computer monitor, headphones and other hardware:
 Spray disinfectant on a dry cloth and clean the hardware.
 Repeat the same procedure on all house phones and printer.
 Wipe the Performance Genie kiosk touch screen and remove finger print marks.

4.0 Clean stairs, staircase handrails and wall tiles:


 Remove cob webs, dirt’s etc. before cleaning the handrails.
 Apply cleaning solution and wipe the handrails and tiles.
5.0 Clean cabins, medical room, pantry, all glass surfaces and windows:
 Clean and polish hardware like tables, chairs, sofa & hardware.
 Clean windows and glass surfaces with water or appropriate cleaning solution.
 Remove garbage from dustbins and clean them if required.

6.0 Carpet and furniture upholstery vacuuming:


 Furniture is to be dusted and all the upholstery is vacuumed cleaned.
 Vacuum under desks and other areas, Move furniture as and when required.

7.0 Washroom cleaning and maintenance:


 Washrooms & washbasins to be cleaned at regular intervals as defined by Admin Dept.
 Remove garbage from dustbins and clean them if required.
 Report to Administer about the repairs needed like broken water taps, foul smell, leaky
water valve, choked toilets or loose tiles.

8.0 Water refill and water coolers/dispensers cleaning:


 Water coolers/dispensers to be properly cleaned each Sunday.
 Refill water coolers/dispensers as and when required.

9.0 Night housekeeping staff supervision to ensure full compliance


 Sweeping, vacuuming of floor and carpet.
 Dusting, cleaning and disinfection of computers and workstations.
 Garbage removal and cleaning of dustbins across the floors and cabins.
 Supervision and accountability of night housekeeping staff work to ensure full
compliance to above metrics

Eligibility criteria
Should be able to operate cleaning equipment; i.e. vacuum cleaner, polishing machine, mops,
brooms, etc.

Administrative Responsibilities
1. To oversee the day to day functionality, hygiene maintenance, attendance and regular dip-
checks.
2. To ensure cleaning supplies and materials availability.
