Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), an autonomous body of the Federal Government, needs to fill up the following
posts through National Testing Services (NTS):

Director (IT) each Sindh (R)=1 Education:
(Software category) Sindh (U)=1 Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Computer Science /

Engineer / Communication Technology from HEC recognized institutions or
System from a reputable foreign university.
Administrator) Experience (Software Developer):
o Atleast 3 years of experience in related field is mandatory.
o Candidate must have proven excellent knowledge and
hands on experience in administration and development of
ORACLE & MS SQL Server based Databases, XML schemas
etc. Prior experience in database migration from ORACLE to
SQL would be an advantage.

Experience (Network Engineer):


o Atleast 3 years of experience in related field is mandatory.

hands on experience on enterprise grade network
equipment including but not limited to routers, switches
and firewalls and network technologies including network
security etc.

Experience (System Administrator):


o Atleat 3 years of experience in related field is mandatory.
o Candidate must have proven excellent knowledge and
hands on experience of management and administration of
Microsoft Server & RHEL Server O/S technologies etc.
Age: Maximum 35 years.

qualifying NTS test will have to apply for respective positions at FMU.

Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU)

1. Software Developers – 2 Positions


Job Descriptions:
 Develop and maintain legacy ORACLE based database.
 Develop and maintain SQL based database
 Monitor, maintain and optimize the databases; Conduct periodic random testing for
anomalies and inconsistencies, perform troubleshooting and refine reporting interfaces.
 Monitor and support LEA’s on reporting system usage and maintenance to ensure
compliance of XML based STR/CTR data entry into Web Server.
 Conduct post installation testing and UAT along with end users at reporting entities and
LEA’s etc., resolve issues, clean-up and optimize the databases.
 Develop additions and features into the web interface.
 Develop and assist development of XML based extractors to extract CTR/STR
information from core systems of Reporting Entities.
 Development of various software applications according to requirements.
 Upgrade & develop features in existing software as per organization’s needs.
 Working with trainers and technical teams to develop user support materials.
 Shift work is mandatory; the position will require working in various shifts including
afternoon and night shifts.

Eligibility Criteria
 Education: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Computer Science / Computer
Engineering from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign university
preferably in software/development.
 Experience:
o At least 3 years of experience in related field is mandatory.
o Candidate must have proven excellent knowledge and hands on experience in
administration and development of ORACLE & MS SQL Server based
Databases, XML schemas etc. Prior experience in database migration from
ORACLE to SQL would be an advantage.
 Age: Maximum 35 years.

2. Network Engineer – 2 Positions
Job Descriptions:
 Configure, manage, monitor, maintain and support network equipment such as Firewalls,
Routers, Switches (layer 2 and Core), Wireless Gateways/Access Points and Intrusion
Detection/Prevention Systems.
 Configure, manage, monitor, maintain and support Corporate Wide Area Network and IP
based telecommunication devices such as IP Phones (VoIP) and Video Conference
(VC) etc.
 Plan Network Bandwidth Capacity and Commission new communication links.
 Perform network related configuration for the business related application as per
requirements, following international best practices.
 Ensure network connectivity throughout institute’s LAN/WAN infrastructure.
 Check, identify and Update the IOS of network hardware.
 Take backup configurations of Network hardware.
 Support internal and external users pertaining to networks through network management
and monitoring.
 Correspond with local and international vendors for the timely replacement of faulty
network devices as per Service Level Agreement (SLA).
 Monitor fire Suppression, temperature monitoring system and Biometric Access Control
System.
 Make sure availability of UPS & Genset as backup to Data Centre equipment..
 Shift work is mandatory; the position will require working in various shifts including
afternoon and night shifts.

3. System Administrator – 2 Positions
Job Descriptions:
 Manage and Administer Windows & Linux based Servers.
 Provide Desktop System Administration support to Officers.
 Resolve user queries, issues and problems.
 Provide help, support and assistance in installation, setup and maintenance.
 Responsible for all the documentation work of IT department and also keep records and
inventories up to date.
 Determining the requirements of users and monitoring user access and security;
 Monitor Data Centre Environment such as Precision Cooling Systems (PAC/HVAC), Fire
Detection and Suppression systems (VESDA), Bio-Metric Access Controls, CCTV etc.
 Monitor Servers, Storage, Network devices, network and communication Links, UPS &
Generator status etc., to ensure business continuity and to escalate problems not
resolved within the specified timeframe to manager IT.
 Perform installations, configurations, connections, start-up, shutdown, backup & restore
and daily/day end operations etc.
 Conduct day end activities including daily backups, maintenance etc.
 Coordinate with vendors in planned and unplanned maintenance, upgrade and support
etc.
 Installation, setup, configuration and support of software on Servers & Clients.
 Shift work is mandatory; the position will require working in various shifts including
afternoon and night shifts.

Application Procedure

Written Test
The candidates meeting the above eligibility criteria are required to register themselves with National
Testing Service (NTS) for appearing in the written test.

Registration with NTS


Interested eligible candidates shall register themselves with NTS as per following procedure:-
 Application form and deposit slip is available at NTS website www.nts.org.pk
 Take printout of the form along with fee deposit slip.
 Deposit test fee of Rs.800/- through deposit slip at any online branch of HBL, MCB, UBL or
ABL.
 Send application form along with original NTS copy of deposit slip, CNIC, Domicile Certificate and

3 passport size photographs to “National Testing Service” not later than Tuesday, 15 Nov
2016.
 NTS/FMU will not be responsible for late receipt of applications sent through post. Applications
submitted in person will not be entertained. Applications sent directly to FMU in contravention of
the prescribed procedure will not be entertained.
 NTS will upload the result at its website as well as send the marks sheets to the candidates after
announcement of result.

Selection Procedure
The candidates who qualify the written test conducted by NTS shall be eligible to subsequently apply for
the respective post at FMU. The candidates short listed on the basis of merit of written test and available
number of vacancies will be invited for further evaluation including Interview before a Selection
Committee at FMU. Successful candidates will be selected in order of merit subject to the observance of
quota as prescribed by the Government of Pakistan.

Application Procedure
 After announcement of written test result by NTS, the eligible candidates who qualify NTS test
may apply for the respective position at FMU. The application form will be available at the FMU’s
website www.fmu.gov.pk or can be obtained from FMU’s offices. Duly filled in application form
along with result sheet issued by NTS, attested copies of all educational documents, experience
certificates, CNIC, domicile and 3 passport size photographs MUST reach the following address

 Applicants must indicate in their CVs the place of Domicile and whether they have a criminal
record, were found guilty of misconduct or have pending criminal or misconduct charges. The
applicants may be subjected to security clearance.

contacted.
 No TA/DA shall be admissible for appearing in the Test/Interview.
 All appointments shall be made in compliance with prescribed regional/provincial quota
requirements.
 Relaxation in age is admissible in accordance with the policy announced by the Federal
Government.
